These clamps are cheaply made, to begin with, that’s why I had to replace them because they broke but I love my battery pack concept. Small, compact, fits in my glove box, multi-stage flashlight, USB charge.

These have a red box on the positive lead that is supposed to provide reverse polarity protection. It should either be a heavy duty diode that will pass current only in the correct direction, or at least a fuse (although that would not be great if you were stranded somewhere in the dark and accidentally got the leads reversed). Unfortunately, I tried testing this before I had my morning coffee, and wasn’t as careful as I should have been to get the polarity correct. SPARKS! So no protection whatsoever.
In addition the clamps are small and weak, and slipped off the battery terminals twice. So even with the polarity correct, there’s a decent chance the positive clamp could fall off and touch something metallic near the battery and short the jumper pack.
These are dangerous and should not be sold on Amazon.
