These brakes are awesome on my 2014 GTI! Fitment is perfect, contains the brake wear sensor cable which snaps in like OEM. Immediately can see a difference from regular VW pads. The initial bite is great. I drive mostly city/traffic and these do just fine for that. Also slows down pretty quickly from highway speeds. I’ll never go back to OEM or any part store pads, these are the best

Yes, you WILL get loud squeals from these brakes. Yes you WILL get brake dust from these brakes. Yes, they WILL get quiet and cleaner as you break them in. It took me about 900 miles to get them to stop squealing and being so dirty, however it was well worth the quality of these pads. Great stopping in cold, wet, or any other conditions. Next will be the rotors from EBC.

I bought these back in late 2021 to eventually swap onto my MK6 GTI which hadn’t exactly required a brake pad replacement at the time, but I like to shop ahead. Finally did the job about 2 months ago, and I gotta say how awful these pads are. I was recommended to get them for street use, but they have such a ridiculous brake fade issue. First thing in the morning, after the car has been cool all night, they feel and function fine, but around midday when you expect your pads and rotors as well as brake fluid to be the hottest, the brake pedal basically can travel all the way to the floor. I’ve flushed my fluid twice now, once myself using a brake bleeder, and once more at an authorized VAG shop. They said the pads feeling good cold and then failing during operation is the pad and composition. I had to pump the pedal a few times just to get some decent feedback when braking. They also squeak and squeal when coming to a stop after getting hot. Avoid these, and go with some Hawks, or something intended for street use. These are pure trash. I will never buy pads again in advance either since I can’t even return them now.

I’m actually quite disappointed! Coming from stock pads, I knew that these would be more aggressive pads, and they certainly do grab hard, but they are really noisy. The brake squeal is obnoxiously loud and shrill. At first i dismissed this as “hey, they are just breaking in…” but i have over a 1000 miles on these pads now and they are no better. I’ve thoroughly washed the wheels and calipers free of brake dust (very little with these pads by the way) and the squealing hasn’t subsided. I’ve also considered that maybe they need to heat up to squeal less. Nope! It makes no difference if I drive aggressively, moderately, or as gingerly as a mouse – they are loud! I’ve had Hawk HPS and Mintex Red pads in the past and they were both silent throughout the life of the pad. Despite the improved stopping power these pads provide, they are unbearable to listen to, thus I couldn’t rate them any higher.

  5. Kei Loper

I’m only 700+ miles in so far so I can’t give them a 5 star rating until I have a few thousand more miles on them. Either way, initial impressions are very positive. Dust doesn’t seem to be horrible, noise is not an issue, stopping power is very strong and very very smooth. I really am a fan of the “Break In” coating on the EBC pads, this is my first set, usually I drive on Hawk pads, but wanted to try something different that I’ve heard about for so many many years.

No fading issues in spirited driving, good pedal feel, pretty good initial bite in cold and warm weather. So far, I would definitely buy them again, and may actually pick up a set of yellows for heavier use on track. 2013 GLi

Put these on the front of the wires VW Passat. The car is a POS, but these brakes are fantastic! I’ll be bias here… I have never had a set of EBC brake pads in racing or in street use that I have not liked. The secret is that you MUST seed them in properly !! I go down the street 3-4 times at about 60 MPH and then do a hard braking, one after the other to get them good and hot from the friction… Then I do some light stops to slow the cooling of the pads and the rotors. Then, let the car sit for an hour to cool the rest of the way, or at least get to below 120 degrees F Now you’re good to go!!

Tres bon pads de frein. Freine plus que d’origine et produit peu de poussière. La pedale est modulable et les freins sont silencieux.

  8. Miguel

I love these so far, using them on a stage II gti and the stopping is remarkable. Actually low brake dust, usually with my previous brakes my rims would be caked with dust within a few days but I’ve had these on for two weeks and there isn’t much there. Time will tell for durability but I’m expecting them to last a while.

Look great, stop even better. I upped the size on my VW CC from 17×8 with 235/45/17 tires to 18×8 with 245/40/18. It felt like the added size and unsprung mass weren’t reacting nicely with the ABS, causing it to kick in more often than before. It might be just my own imagination, but the abs doesn’t kick in like it did, and the car just stops. Period. Pricey replacement for stock components, but well worth it.
Installed front and rears with EBC Rotors and Redstuff Ceramic Pads

    Great pads on VW CC
