- RUST ENCAPSULATOR: Iron oxide is no match for our original Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. This paint-over-rust solution quickly stops surface rust before it can compromise the part’s structural integrity. Rust Encapsulator penetrates deep into the metal to prevent existing rust from spreading or future rust from forming. It’s also heat-resistant up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which means it can be safely used in the engine bay or near the brakes.
- HOW TO USE: Apply product as a primer/Encapsulator over clean or corroded (rusted) steel or cast iron. Prep surface by mechanically cleaning loose flaking rust with a stiff brush or wire brush/wheel. Remove any grease, oils, or other surface contaminants with a solvent such as PRE or Acetone. Apply by brush, roller, or spray. See manual for more detailed instructions.

After removing loose rust and grime with a degreaser I used this stuff on the back half of my 65 F100 frame. 2 coats with a roller and brush and it came out great. It goes on and can be runny so caution while applying and use a tarp or something on the floor. Once it fully cures though it appears to be self leveling and dries rock hard! Can’t even gouge it with my keys it’s so durable. Really impressed with this stuff. One small can is enough to do the whole frame, 2 coats and have some leftover. Highly recommended product

I really like the quality of this paint, it really covers great and works well but with being thick doesn’t go far especially for the cost, very expensive. Now if it lasts like it says it’ll be worth it. My reason for not giving a 5 is for how long it takes to get the product. My second order and waiting again?????

I’ve used this rust encapsulation paint years ago while restoring an antique truck chassis. After many years the coating has held up and no rust. Surface prep is important and it goes on smoothly and coverage is excellent. For my recent project we acquired a set of vintage Salterini peacock chairs. The paint was old and had some surface rust. A little work cleaning them and wire brushing and a coat of Eastwood, topped with a single coat of gloss black and they look amazing. I can’t say enough good things about this stuff.
One word of advise. While brushing or rolling this paint on, wear an old long sleeve and long pants, latex gloves too. This stuff is the devil to scrub off your skin. Mineral spirits will help but the amount of scrubbing doesn’t do your skin any favors! OUCH!

Works great but you have to paint it on think if your using a brush I had lots of spots it missed I had to go over. It takes more then you think about twice as much
