I tried to charge three different LiFePO4 batteries with this charger. Two made by Nermak and one made by WEIZE. I say that only to show that these are well known batteries and it’s far more likely this charger is bad than that all three batteries are bad. The charger had a number of problems.
First, this charger struggled to identify the battery’s SOC. The first time I selected LiFePO4 mode and connected it to my battery, it showed full. The battery was reading 13.2V at the time, so not anywhere near full. The second time it showed 01%. The third time I connected it, it showed 54% and started charging. This was something I experienced on all three batteries was wildly different SOC readings each time I connected the charger, despite the fact that the voltage across the terminals was unchanged.
Most LiFePO4 batteries should be charged near 14.4V +/-.02. This charger repeatedly raised to voltage to over 15.5V before the BMS in the battery shut off charging. The charger would then enter a cycle of turning on, overvolting, causing BMS emergency shutdown and repeating. During the time the battery was shut down, the voltage across the leads read over 17V. I assume this is some attempt to activate the “wake-up” function of some Lithium batteries that have been discharged too far. My BMS has current limiting built in and I wonder if the escalation in voltage was an attempt to maintain some preset constant current.
The profile used to charge LiFePO4 batteries with this charger is AGM/LiFePO4 which tells me they’re just using an AGM profile rather than a specific LiFePO4 profile. That can work but isn’t optimal. The problem is if you’re charging with constant current and you think the battery is discharged, you might spike the voltage, something a dedicated LiFePO4 charger would never do.
My BMS saved my batteries but if you’re connecting this to older LiFePO4 batteries with less advanced BMS it’s possible they would allow the charge to continue at those high voltages. This might work but will probably damage your cells and is asking for a fire.
Other reviews have mentioned a similar pattern of over-voltage during charge when charging LiFePO4 so I don’t think this is unique to my unit. I ordered another brand of charger and the first battery charged perfectly for 78 minutes before reading full charge. The other two batteries also charged perfectly. I won’t let this charger near my expensive batteries again.

I almost gave up on getting my motorcycle’s lifepo4 / lithium iron phosphate battery to charge, but I decided to buy this charger first, and give it another go. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked really well. The digital display accurately displayed the % of charge as it went, and when it reached capacity, the display read “ful”. What more can I say? It does what it is advertised to do.
The only possible downside (for me) is that it only has the battery post clamps, and does not have an SAE charge plug that I can plug in to my my bikes charge cord. However, for the price of this charger, it’s an easy thing to look past. It’s likely I’ll buy another one of these chargers. The price is right.

Great price & value with fast service……….. EZ install. It is used to maintain a show car’s battery and charges a low battery quickly & then maintains it. It works very well and the digital readout is very functional. However the power & battery wires are totally too short at 20″ for the battery & 32″ for the power side. My other similar chargers are 69″ power & 80″ battery wire lengths. The wire lengths make it hard use and naturally limit it’s use. I will keep this one but will not purchase others due to the wire restrictions in using it.
