This exhaust is awesome. Good and loud when you’re on the pedal, sounds very aggressive. When you’re just cruising there most definitely is a drone, but it’s nothing that the radio can’t drown out at even the lowest volume. Doesn’t bother me at all. There is a small hint of ricey sound to it when you aren’t accelerating. Easy to install, getting the old exhaust off is a PITA and you’ll need to reuse one of the rubber isolators for the new bracket that they give you to attach at the Evap skid. Absolutely Recommend.

This exhaust was extremely easy to install (once you finally cut the old exhaust off). Good fit and finish too. Only issues: directions dont mention it but be prepared to flatten out the lip of your evap canister bracket for the exhaust mounting bracket to fit and sit flush. Also, the rubber hangar that connects that bracket to the exhaust tip doesnt have the best fit- it sits sideways, and allows the exhaust to vibrate a little at certain rpms (experiences may vary- this is just MY experience).
Overall sound: noticably louder especially upon startup (until the engine warms up) and also as it breaks in. Not bad while cruising- you bought an exhaust to hear it, so you will hear it but its not bad while cruising. Sounds as good as a v6 is going to sound. Low RPM, up to 1500 has a really nice v8 kind of rumble. Mileage didnt change but my jeep seems to hunt to gears a little more now. Not sure if the lack of backpressure dropped my torque and caused this…
Would I recommend this? – only if you want an aggressive exhaust sound.

Install was a pain due to removal of the stock exhaust. After that is out you’ll need to trim the evap bracket with a cutoff wheel. I’d say removal of the stock system is a 3/5 difficulty (not hard, just time consuming) and the install is a 1/5.
I was really worried that a pre-axle dump would be too loud. Upon first startup I hated it. After driving for a week or so the sound has really mellowed out and alleviated any concerns I had. I’m now overall surprised how quite it is for where it exits.
Sound is aggressive with the window cracked but quite anytime else. I love it, it will absolutely turn heads. VERY slight drone at 1800 rpm but sounds great elsewhere. My concern was long highway driving and it’s surprisingly quite at 75 MPH, but loud when you stomp on it…exactly what I wanted. I was looking for an exhaust that eliminated the JK “saggy diaper” under the rear end and sounded aggressive. I’d give this Dynomax a solid 5/5 on this one. Love it!

Put this exhaust on my 2013 JKU. Sounds great during acceleration and while driving on the highway.

Easy install, and it sounds great! Plus it tucks up making it a great for the people who 4×4. So glad I went this route, I was looking at axle back and cat back setups that were double to quadruple the price of this Dynomax kit!

Just so we are clear this kit does not fit a 2016 JKU Rubicon
The stock muffler was so hard to get off I had to cut it off and that point I found out it doesn’t fit. I had to fabricate 2 90 degree pieces to make this kit work. If I didn’t have to cut the old exhaust off I would have returned it.
Exhaust sounds good but they seller must have not sent me the right parts in the kit because this was a Pain in the butt to get down. Wasted my whole morning on this … Ugggg

I chose this due to the amount of positive reviews. I would definitely recommend this exhaust with the knowledge that there is potential for needed modification. Most reviews state that is a pretty straight forward install. My issue was that like some other reviews the exhaust fit was about 3-4 inches too long. Also you will cut off the collector clamp, be sure to purchase a new one ahead of time. I ended up cutting about 1/2in on the mid pipe and removed the stop rivet on the collector. Once I figured all that out the install was completed quite quickly. I like the sound, it is slightly loud but deep and doesn’t sound like a ricer. No real drone around town but you do get a slight rumble, guessing its because it dumps out under the passenger compartment. Overall happy………

BEFORE you buy. Remove you OEM muffler. It’s loud and twangy. Just bad really. But you’ll know what your getting with this exhaust. It cleans the sound up very well. Gets rid of the twang and smooths everything out nicely.
2012 JKU Sahara. Fast shipping. Well packaged and directions suck but it’s not too bad to figure out.
Removal:
Roll your selves up this is going to really be tuff. Spray the mess out of all the hangers and bolts. My bolts were terribly rusted. You’ll need a breaker bar for the bolts if they are bad and a crow bar is a must for the rubber/metal band inside grommets. The muffler clamp has a TACK WELD in it. Beat or grind off. Good luck. Remove the 4 bolts to the large skid plate and remove. The resonator is not too bad. I beat on the muffler so much I loosened it off so I didn’t even have to unbolt the clamp. Just slid it off. Let the front most end fall to ground and rotate forward to the front of the vehicle to remove.
Used 15mm, 16mm, 18mm, crowbar and screwdriver to wedge, beaker bar for rusty bolt. Could be forgetting something.
Install
Easy. Follow the lacking directions. Note you may have to beat the exhaust tip in the muffler before bringing it under the jeep. The OEM style clamp goes on the y-pipe/intermediate pipe. And notice the groves in the monster clamps are big to small. Work you way from front to back and tighten after everything is in place. Don’t forget to reinstall your skid plate.
Sound:
To me it’s like a modiste muscle car. Not too load at all but noticeable. Worth the money for a reasonable grumble and to get rid of the rusted 2 year old muffler.
Enjoy.
