Its a great pump
Mrs Longoria –
Just installed on my 99 Mercury Grand Marquis today 03/21/25 (currently at 306858, replaced at 306840). It was a direct fit, for sure quieter than my last fuel pump assembly. The filter is thin mesh (not sure of the microns unfortunately) rather than padding like most. The short harness was about 2-3in shorter (measuring at like about 17-18in rather than 20in) which I had no hookup issue, long harness was exact size as previous. I am still waiting for the email I requested for a part number for the fuel pump itself. Given the cost it may just be best to replace the whole unit rather than swapping the pump. I had to bend the float arm just a little to match my previous float arm (float was sitting a little higher). Warranty is a year so I will routinely update milage and and performance. It for sure knocked out my lean condition. If it fails within 6mn-1yr+ it’s simple to replace on my car so we’ll see.

Easy float connections with wiring diagram if needed.

I am writing to inform you (Potential buyers) of a recent issue I encountered with the fuel pump I purchased from this company in late February 2023. Initially, I was satisfied with the product; however, it has unfortunately ceased functioning. To confirm the failure, I conducted a direct test by connecting the pump to a 12-volt power supply, which resulted in no response from the unit. This was not due to a relay or fuse issue, as my old pump still operates under the same test conditions.
Additionally, I observed a winding noise emanating from the pump while in use, which was audible from inside the vehicle. This noise has since served as an indicator of the pump’s impending failure. Thankfully, the unit failed while I was at home rather than during a commute, which could have resulted in a hazardous situation.
As a seasoned user of this product, I have come to recognize the winding noise as a warning sign of malfunction. Given the high failure rate noted in reviews, which I regrettably overlooked at the time of purchase, I will not be procuring this particular model from your company in the future.
I am now compelled to caution others about the potential reliability issues, as a 23% to 28% failure rate is considerably high. Moving forward, I will seek an alternative pump from a different vendor and will share my experience with that product in due course.
I urge the manufacture company to address these concerns, as product reliability and customer safety are paramount.
END of Followup
It seems to be universal. But the outside diameter flange doesn’t seem to fit as well as the OEM version. I had to center the unit perfectly in the center of the rubber casket. I will follow up on how long this unit will last.
Followup: As of July 7, 2023, the fuel pump is still working. But I do have an issue with the fuel gauge. It’s not Accurate. It keeps showing almost a full tank. I’ve taken out the pump. I adjusted it back to the line. I even adjusted it back to factory settings. I performed an increment adjustment test. This was done by moving it to the left or to the right (adjusted to 2mm per test). As far as it can go. And still, it showed only 5 gallons used. I just put it where it gives me a close reading, which is still off by 3 gallons. So I have to remember how far my car can travel based on the size of the gas tank (a 14-gallon tank) and mpg.

Works as advertised. Comes with all needed mounting hardware and gaskets.
Paul –
The old gasket was a bit hard to work with but not impossible. Put it on the tank and carefully slide the pump in. New beetle, started instantly, seems to run better. I bought this and the fuel pump relay for a bit over $55, I’d suggest you do both just in case! Local stores sell the same pump for 4-6 times more!
Update: Pump ran for a day and died. The motor is “open”, bad winding or brushes? I ordered its replacement, will give this brand another chance. The pump, housing look identical to the old one I pulled out. Same mold marks and labels.

yup.it pumps fuel. But the float mechanism looks different and cheaper bcuz it is. Cant at all trust the fuel gauge anymore. gona have to take it out and fix that issue.

1999 F-150 4.2 base model regular cab. Perfect fit.

Installed this on a friends daily driver 99 F150 ex-cab 5.4L about 2 months ago and so far its running great. Best part is it’s 1/4 of the cost from local parts store.
You can replace by dropping fuel tank, cutting a precise hole in bed above fuel pump or remove the bed. I highly recommend removing the bed. I have changed other fuel pumps on other pickups using those alternate ways and as long as you have 3 strong bodies, this way is by far the easiest.
U will need Torx T50 bit, fuel line disconnect tool, metric socket set, screwdrivers and 3 strong bodies.
Just remove 6 bolts in the bed of the truck(need torx T50 bit), 3 small bolts around the fuel filler neck(7mm hex), loosen the hose clamp on the filler neck hose that holds filler hose to bed(which can be accessed from inside the fender well), unplug the 1 wiring harness connection on the drivers side at the back near the bumper, 1/4 turn the tag lights and pull from bumper, unbolt the rear-end vent hose that goes from rear end up to bottom of bed. Remove tailgate (added weight). Find at least 2 strong guys to help lift the bed up and back off the frame. Blow all dirt and debris away from top of pump and disconnect fuel lines from pump(you will need a fuel line disconnect tool for this). Unbolt pump, lift out carefully and install new 1 same way. Put it all back together. Complete job took less than an hour for us amateurs.

I installed this part last year. The car runs and no issues with the operation of the pump, but it has a whistle when you turn the key on (priming the system) and the entire time the car is running. Works, but it is annoying.
