Gary Thomas –
Would be 5 stars but the connecting clips on both cables failed ended up using the old ones over. Luckily the trash had not been picked up yet and was able to retrieve them.
Slinky –
The one I received did not have the correct end on it. It had a 90 Degree instead of a hook.
Slinky –
The piece of metal that connects the new parking brake cable to the existing intermediate cable broke. Confidence in Doorman hasn’t been very high to begin with. After this, I don’t plan on using Doorman products in the future. They are budge built parts.
Avid Reader –
Good quality compared to OEM, had the front cable to pedal fail(Dorman C660307),replaced it, going to swap out the cables late summer(this one is for the passenger side (Dorman C660311, had bought the C660310 as well for drivers side rear disc brakes) either if the middle wire section breaks, Raybestos BC95071 or equivalent of Dorman C95071,Chrysler part good luck!, had to call a local auto store, turns out ordered wrong part from entered Amazon description and it don’t matter going to have to return another part from Amazon & settled on an AC Delco part 18P1518(connecting clip mediocre brand new from box, (think someone stuck a Dorman clip in there, possibly a whole Dorman assembly, looks the same & the GM one online is different, SWITCHAROOOO). It is the main centre wire that is 35 1/8 inches long(round to round barrel) that connects up to the Dorman 926-284 equalizer bracket & C660307 in the middle.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab 8 foot box 4WD.
Need emergency brakes, it is a necessity.
And yes, Keep your old connecting clips don’t use the ones they send with new cables, poor quality…reuse the old ones, notice the one in pictures that was ordered, looks like they used pliers to keep it on and the paint is chipped and the clip is distorted. (possibly a returned cable because of this weak link), consider that the good clips(even AC Delco) are $16 CA a piece, they are not painted black, look like stainless hardened spring steel. Actually had to order Schley 10500 Parking Cable Coupler Removal Pliers to get the old clips off( there are others), couldn’t figure out how to get off on one of the cables that didn’t break to keep the older cables going.
00-01 models of ram truck are an oddball, careful with what one you get to match up, if you can’t save the clips, go buy some, maybe buy a blinky lighted tool, pay attention to your style of truck when matching these cables.
