once you get past that 10 minute security wait and it’s not working CALL them company. it deleted my keys and had to call a locksmith. the keys provided would not program to the truck no matter how hard he tried, had to program my old key back and glue the chip and cut me a few keys for it. either have a locksmith do this or stay on the phone with the company as you do it or it will erase your key data entirely. easy install though.

I just installed the new cylinder in my truck. Instructions were clear. Cylinder fits perfectly. The keys were programmed correctly and I’m happy that my truck is not a 1 ton paper weight.

This is the first time I’ve had to give a product a negative review. The lock cylinder installed properly, but sits outside the column. When I attempted to program the new Keyset with the Ford antitheft system, it locked me out of all of my keys! I called Dorman, and they said that I installed everything properly, but would still have to call a locksmith to come out and reprogram my new keys… I have a 2004 Ford Ranger now sitting waiting for a locksmith

I just bought a 2004 Ford Ranger, and it only came with one Key. And it isn’t the same as the door locks. I bought this kit and took the door cylinders to a locksmith so now I have 3 keys. 1 key only opens the doors as it has no chip. The other 2 work perfectly all around.
