Saved at least $250 doing this myself. Dealer quoted $200 just for this part. This is identical to the OEM part: passenger side 2009 Tahoe.

*** Update 7/30/2017
It’s been a little over three years since I bought and installed this part originally. About a month ago it started to act up when the weather started to get really warm here. This seems to be a common pattern with these actuators as they start to wear and go bad. The warmer the weather the more they act up. Anyway, today seems to be the day that it decided to completely fail. I will buy another to replace and hope it lasts for awhile longer.
*** Original Review:
I needed this to fix the door lock actuator in front passenger door on our 2009 Yukon Denali. Seems to be a common problem on GM Full Sized Trucks. The door lock will either slightly move when unlocking/locking the door electronically, or not at all (you can hear the solenoid trying to do something).
The picture in the product description is a little deceiving as it makes it look like it would be for the left hand side (drivers side) door of the vehicle, but it’s actually upside down. After verifying the part at several product sites I bought this here on Amazon (best price by far). For the mechanically inclined, this is fairly simple to replace and can save you hundreds in paying full price for the item at the dealer plus labor rate for the install. Took me roughly an hour to do (if that) since I didn’t time it and it was the first time for me working on a GM product.

This is my second one of these latches. I did the left side previously several years ago and it has worked flawless. This Right one now went so I ordered another and like the first dropped right in. Could not be happier. Hope it holds up as the Left one did. I am expecting that I will need 2 more in the future for the rear doors on my 2009 crew cab silverado. after all it is now 11. I have a LTZ With all options. and this works with it. Some of the features like keyless entry and other stuff has something to do with the latch so do your research. I would highly recommend these latches as cheaper replacements for the OEM at 400 plus dollars.

Part came quickly, and works well. Word to the wise; If you are doing this repair for the first time and are utilizing Youtube, just be aware that the guy that has a video on how to do this, is not very accurate in his explanation. It is a fairly simple exchange, but its a tight space to work in.

I originally wrote a positive review on this thing and have since retracted it. This door lock matched the factory original perfectly. Unfortunately, after less than 2 weeks, it stopped working properly. The cable that attaches to the interior door handle would not retract after being pulled. The door latch wouldn’t release, so the door couldn’t be opened from either the inside or outside. A mechanic had to get the door panel off with the door closed, access this f**** device, reset the lever that wouldn’t retract, then the door could be opened from the outside. It still couldn’t be opened with the inside cable because the cable has to reset to trigger the door latch. Since the vehicle sensed that the inside door handle was being pulled, it issued a “passenger door open” warning light and kept the interior lights on whenever the engine was running. All the while, the passenger door would not open. To make matters worse, I was on the 5th day of a three week trip when this happened. 2 weeks and 2 days with the right side of my vehicle inaccessible to me. Thanks, Dorman. Oh, and thanks Amazon. Amazon only allows returns for 30 days on this thing. By the time I got back from my trip, it was too late to return this piece of crap. So I was out about $100, not to mention the frustration cited above.

Unit slowed down, then stopped working 3 years after I installed it. I do not recommend it.

There is a factory defect that caused the remote door lock to fail on 2008 GMC Yukons. I went without a door lock for two years because the dealer wanted $400 to fix it. I watched a YouTube video of replacing the lock actuator and decided I could do it myself and save money. The hardest part of the entire replacement was putting the door panel back on the door. I had never done it before, it took 15 minutes to replace the actuator and 30 minutes to replace the door panel. I did save $300 so it was well worth the effort. The lock actuator has been installed for one month now and works fine.

This was a replacement of a bad part I received. So the new replacement works perfect! But the first shipped part was bad.

My door will no longer open. I took it to the Cadillac dealership today and they said the Actuator is bad. Accordingly, this part lasted less than 4 months. Based on other reviewers, this appears to be a theme. I would recommend avoiding this part and going with the OEM version (Genuine GM 25876387 Door Lock, Front). The dealership is going to charge me $550 to replace the actuator, which hurts, but not sure I want to mess with it again myself. Disappointing!

Original Review

I replaced the front right door lock actuator on our 2009 Cadillac Escalade Platinum with the “Dorman 931-304 Door Lock Actuator Motor” and it went smoothly. The door now works perfectly.
My symptoms were that my front right (passenger) door lock would not always unlock or lock with the remote or door controls.
For those of you considering replacement, it was pretty simple with this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx3M90X_S_s). I purchased the part on Amazon for $75 and completed within an hour. After doing this once, I could replace the remaining doors in 30 minutes. Taking the door apart and getting the part in and out were the most challenging parts. I read a few forums, which state that the dealerships charges around $400 per door, so I saved $325 by doing it myself (if you had to do all 4 doors, it would save you $1300 to do it yourself).
Note that this part is for the motor only. You will have to re-use all other hardware from the old part including the cable that connects to the interior door handle. It was simple to remove from the old part. The YouTube video shows the new part coming with the cable. I just wanted to highlight this as I was concerned initially when I received the part from Amazon and it did not include the cable. Thanks to those who responded to my question in the “Customer Questions & Answers” section to clarify re-using all other hardware from the old part.
Overall, I recommend the “Dorman 931-304 Door Lock Actuator Motor” and replacing it yourself to save hundreds of dollars. As usual Amazon had the best price and it shipped in 2 days with Prime, so not only did I save a lot of money, but I was able to replace it faster than scheduling an appointment with the dealership.
