So, it works…. kind of, but it hits the striker even with a little adjustment. For me at first it was very inconsistent and I had to double lock and check if it locked. After a few days of use it locked! ( not sure what happened). Now it works good, and you can still hear the slight bang of it not striking right, but it locks and closes. So maybe it’s just a sound thing.

Great replacement actuator for my 2000 Chevy Silverado LT. This is for the driver side door and has three electrical connections. Only issue is that one of the plastic connections for the lock rod is too big. Had to use the connection from my original.

It’s not plug and play. I had to drill out the door lock rod ⅙ so I could fit some type of a locking pin thru it. I used a small spring. Amazing how good quality control is at Dorman.
    Works perfect now.

Works fine and doesn’t jam but the tab that holds the threaded rod from the outside would not close so had to use the old one and the push thru hole tab(plastic) which another rod from the outside key lock attaches to is too wide so rod does not stay put and I cannot unlock the door with the key. Couldn’t use the old one because it got damaged on removal. If I hadn’t thrown the box out I would have returned it. Good thing my key fob works.

Works good the only thing is the retainer for the keylock bar does not stay in the retainer

Dorman and Amazon do not pay attention to what automotive items are sold and then wonder why there are so many returns. Dorman has a lifetime warranty but to get the warranty you have to contact Dorman. So what good is Amazon if they do not warranty the products they sell. I still have this Dorman lock installed and it sets off my alarm system every time I open the door because it is the wrong one. It is for a Chevy with manual windows only and will not fit an alarm system 1999 to 2006 Silverado 1500.

The plastic retainers aren’t very good. One broke when I was assembling even though I was gentle. The other one was too big for the metal rod so I added some weld to the end of the rod and ground it down to the new, larger size. I didn’t have an issue having to slam my door shut, it closed just like before. The part seemed a little flimsy, but so did the OEM part I took off. I don’t like how the unlock button inside the door is so loose, but I guess that’s just poor design and/or poor design of the motor arm (too much slop).

I replaced my broken door latch assembly with this Dorman unit and it works great. Was a little tricky getting all the rods hooked back up. A note , remove the latch assembly with the rods attached then switch them to the new latch and install as a unit. The hardest rod to reattach is the outside door handle, you have to work through a hold in the side of the door above the latch.
