I ordered a set of these knock sensors on a recommendation and with the cost difference, I tried them out. I bench tested them and one had a slightly lower voltage output but still within spec so I went ahead and installed them. Drove for about a week on and off and then one failed. After removal, the one with lower voltage output was barely putting any voltage out.

This isn’t to say that these are a bad product as the crystal inside can get damaged on sharp drops or something similar. They were packaged well, but you never know what can happen when they are thrown around in shipping.

With it probably slightly damaged, I am assuming that the vibrations from the engine finished the crystal off. I am going to disassemble it when I get some time out of curiosity.

Point of the story is to make sure to test before installing to make sure that they are within spec to avoid having to pull everything back apart to replace again.

3 stars because it is partially my fault for accepting a lower than expected output, but still not a 100% functioning part on delivery.

One sensor installed with no drama. The other sensor (back one) spun where the top and bottom covers are crimpt together. Could not get it to fully torque, or even remove. After opening the original sensor I’m replacing, it appears that this may not be an issue until I need to remove in the future (fingers crossed). The threads were a bit dirty/rusty. I had cleaned it with wire brush, but probably should have chased the threads with a tap, but I would still not expect the crimps to fail before the torque was hit even with dirty threads.

Ok, 1 year and 2 months later, truck is throwing a P0327 code (Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)) UGH!!!

  5. I’ve definitely seen a difference in my energy bill. Average about $30 less a month.

I bought these since I was changing the intake gasket. It was not showing code for knock sensors but I put new ones in anyway. Now it’s throwing a code for them . I should’ve just left the factory sensors. Junk . Now I have to pay someone to swap them out for oem .

After having g a professional mechanic install the knock sensor, 2 months later due to a failed knock sensor and harness with exposed wire set my engine on fire. Which caused engine failure set my intake on fire and blew through my fuel injectors and fuel rail. I’m out 3500$ do not buy.

    Worked as they should

    Great

Replaced on my 2005 Chevy Avalanche, check engine cleared 2 days later. Took it straight to the smog and passed afterwards. I know you’re supposed to torque it down but I just did it a little more than hand tight.

This was a direct replacement for the old factory knock sensors from 1999. I installed them when I resealed the intake several months ago. So far they are working fine and the quality seems on point.
