Ok so I had to order 2 of these because on the first one i messed up the key programing. The wouldn’t go in all the way doesn’t matter how hard you push or hit the key it would not go all the way in. SOLUTION: hold hit by the key and tap the bottom of the cylinder until the key fully seat. This worked perfect couldn’t be happier it was a cheap and fast.

The teaching of ignition key cylinder seemed to work as directions said it would with original key. The key cylinder worked in my hands but not once i installed it into the steering column, the key would not turn. It took over 3 hours of trying to turn key that it finally turned allowing me to remove it from the steering column. Then it took about 3 hours to get key to turn towards accessory position so I could remove it from cylinder housing. The cylinder housing was slightly different in the accessory position than the original factory one. Product did not work for me, the key cylinder replacement should have taken less than 1hour – actually took closer to 8 hours. I’m an automotive technician with over 40 years. ***Have not heard back from seller to refund my purchase cost – will change feedback accordingly, if seller makes effort.

Worked great. Easy install and no rekeying necessary. The instructions omitted the very last step but they have online resources that walk you through the entire process.

The radio in my sons truck would not turn off with the key turned off and would drain the battery if you didn’t remove the face plate, also the key could be pulled out while driving it. I figured tumbler first, since you shouldn’t be able to remove key, then worry about wiring for radio. Yes, we had new keys made to start. I watched the videos on YT ‘bout this, seemed easy enuf. I also read all the reviews and was surprised to find a lot of people complaining about how it didn’t work like they promised. A. Don’t panic and B. I’m stubborn. I followed the directions and sure enuf it didn’t work. I turned it once clockwise and then once counter clockwise. Didn’t work. Repeated, nuthin. Just stubbornly kept doing that and on or about the 7 th try it worked. I had matched his key. I hadn’t removed the old tumbler yet so tried spare key there, it worked, so set it to run position, removed it, took this unit and mirrored key position and installed it. I figured if it doesn’t work I could reinstall old one and try somethin else. Good news is it worked just like they said it would. Better news is that not only can you not pull out the key in motion but the radio now shuts off with the key. Musta been a worn tumbler. Bottom line is, don’t get frustrated and don’t panic, just keep ( stubbornly) trying till you get it to work. It’s installed and works perfectly just like they say. Longevity is yet to be determined but, 50 bucks is still better than 200+ for new tumbler and to rekey all doors to match. I gotta say in all honesty, get it, it works. It did for us. Good luck….Out.

Worked just as advertised.
I followed the simple directions exactly and, setting with my original key was fast and simple.
My original cylinder had become sloppy and this one took care of that. (’02 Ram 1500)
The Inspector –
So far so good. The re-keying of the tumblers was amazingly simple. I read the directions (4 steps) and kept thinking I was missing something, but sure enough… the new tumbler was keyed and ready to put into the car in less than 30 seconds!
Once installed, I did need to do some lubrication, but all in all (I’ve manually keyed tumblers in the past, and it’s time-consuming and tedious) this made the job SO simple!
