This part for my 2003 maxima is not compatible , I had the part put on and the check engine light came back on, I paid to have it scan for the 2nd time and I was told buy the Nissan dealer that after market part don’t work for some of their cars. Can this part be return.

I had trouble installing the part. The O ring that came with the part had too large outside diameter. There was no way I could get it into the opening. I had to take the O ring off of the original defective sensor and install it on the Dorman sensor…. then it slipped right in. After install, the sensor has been working okay.

Fit perfectly and turned off the Check Engine Light right away. Also, no flashing “OD” over drive light on my gauge cluster. Bought this for a 2001 Nissan Maxima GLE.

I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima and this output speed sensor fit perfectly. I was getting the P0720 code with the “service engine soon” light. This part got rid of the code and I have not had any high revs, nor shifting problems. Though it’s been only a few days. Like I said though, my code went away after installing the part.

There seems to be some confusion with what this part is called. This part is for the output speed sensor (some call it revolution sensor), that goes under the car on the drivers side. I personally performed this maintenance task and it was pretty simple. Remove front drivers side wheel and plastic fender cover under the car. Use 10mm ratchet to remove bolt on the sensor and disconnect the connector. The hardest part for me was removing the wheel, as I had some stuck lug nuts. I purchased a 25″ Tekon breaker bar from Amazon and that made it so simple.

I was kind of skeptical about buying a cay part via online. However, once I saw the price and I actually had the part put on my vehicle I was so glad I purchased the part from amazon.com. The part was exactly like the one I took off of my vehicle and it worked to perfection. I look forward to during business with amazon.com in the near future. Thanks!!! New Customer

I purchased this item for use on 2000 Nissan Maxima. I verified that it was suppose to fit this vehicle using the Amazon “verify it fits your vehicle”.

I installed the sensor and troulbe still existed. After hours of trouble shooting, hours on line with Nissan Tech support, and 1,000.00 in repair bills at local trans shop we finaly replaced this sensor with and OEM one from dealer ship and it fixed all the problems.

Trans shop said they have seen problems with aftermarket sensors.

If you purchase this sensor and your problem still exists try a OEM one before trying anything else.

I will be returning the sensor!

I installed this on my 2002 Nissan Maxima after my speedometer would starting going crazy over 75 mph. I couldn’t use cruise because of it. This completely corrected the issue. Great price versus OEM from Nissan at $159. Took less than 10 minutes to install. There are videos on You Tube on how to install. Very simple.

Few months back I had a check engine sign on my Nissan Maxima 2000. Went to Advance Auto Part and did a free scanning. The code was P0720 – Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit (aka Transmission Speed Sensor replacement). Due to this my car would suddenly lose speed while driving and would not accelerate.

I got this sensor from Amazon for half the price and had a local mechanic install it. The check engine light is gone and the car is running smoothly for the last two months. I will highly recommend this sensor to anyone having similar issues with their Maxima 2000.
