I am giving it a 5 star rating
Once installed it SOLVED the cold start rattle for my 09 toyota Corolla.
I received no error codes
I wasn’t going to purchase this because of all the negative reviews, but after installing I can assure you that the negative reviewers installed wrong.

Took care of the “cold engine start-up rattle” on my 2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8 with 194k miles.

According to the specifications the piece was for the Toyota Corolla XLE 2009 model, but when installing it to the car, the computer alerted the engine to check and when checking the mechanic determined that the part did not work.
Acquiring the piece did not work, because it did not solve the problem.
Please check my purchase and refund my money.

I have a NUMI built 2010 Corolla, bought in the US.
I had the notorious start-up rattle caused by a worn locking pin in the OE Toyota part.
I bought this part and although it cured the issue initially, the rattle returned after a few weeks service.
I contacted Dorman and they would not exchange directly, but gave me the name of another company who would handle an exchange (RPS Marketing I believe). I contacted them and the customer service was excellent, and I received a replacement within a couple of days.
Unfortunately I installed the replacement, and it rattled immediately.
Save your money and your time and go with another part.
FWIW both parts came with dents and marks from poor quality machining similar to the pictures posted in these reviews, which would irrelevant if the parts worked, but if they’re DOA it’s really indicative of something bad going on.

This product is of poor quality and doesn’t work. Cannot find how to return.

Installed in a 2009 Vibe to fix the cold start rattle related to the TSB on the 2ZR-FE engines. Fixed the issue without a hitch or any codes like some others are having an issue with.

Works great for a Japan made Corolla no engine lights and comes already unlocked be careful when installing it’s very easy to put in lock position before tightening down
