Doesn’t come with instructions but lots of videos on this. Works great but a few things to watch out for.
– locking ring needs to pop out and pop back in. Try spraying with wd40 and use the special removal tool with a very large breaker bar. It’s easy to think you are done but unless the locking ring pops back in place you are sure to get a vapor leak code days to weeks later.
– take time to ensure floats dont get stuck. On my 07 santa fe the drivers side took a lot of jiggling and first attempt had the float stuck under a line.
– fuel line clips could be little brittle. Take a picture and go to dealer to find right sized clips. Auto parts store are not sure. I wound up using a zip tie out of fustration but will by the right clip if I pull this out again.
– the float heads seem to rotate but level out eventually. At first I wasnt seeing a completely full tank but after some driving the guage did max out correctly.
– drive about 100 miles from last fill up so you dont work on a full tank.
Good luck and have patience this is much better than spending over $500 for the repair.

Ordered these sensors for my 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with the common faulty fuel gauge reading [they should really do a recall on these OEM parts]. Installed them last weekend. Install is a bit daunting for a novice mechanic, but overall, just take your time and do some research on YouTube, and you’ll be good.
One thing I noticed with these sensors/floats, is that immediately after the install, the check engine light went out, but the fuel gauge would only go up to 1/2 full, even after I filled up all the way. After driving around 50-100 miles with them in, the floats seemed to level out and give an accurate reading, and now work perfectly. So just a head’s up, that you may see a faulty reading at first, but give them a little while to even out before you go through the whole process of getting into the tank again.

Replaced the pair of sensors on a 1997 Hyundai Santa Fe which had the check engine light on and the incorrect fuel level. After removing the back seats and cargo area was able to access to the fuel tank and replace both. Look and function seem identical to OE that were removed at a fraction of OE cost. Car is 8 years old so if they last a few years it’s worth the money and effort.

Repaired the erratic fuel gauge and fuel level codes on my 2009 Hyundai Santafe Limited. It’s been a few days and no issue. The fit and finish of the parts matched the OE ones I removed, and they immediately functioned as designed. New O-Rings were exact OE match too. For the price, you can’t beat it!

Our Santa Fe was showing incorrect fuel levels, and it was extremely frustrating! We priced these out at our local Hyundai dealership, and they wanted over $100 for each sensor, not including the new O rings! Needless to say this is a much better deal. The process of installing them was not an issue for me as I am a mechanic, but it shouldn’t be too difficult for your DIYer. MAKE SURE THE FUEL TANK ISNT FULL!!!! If it is full, you will make more of a mess and stink up the vehicle.
The quick summary is you remove the back storage areas (10mm socket), remove the back seat (14mm socket), and pull back the carpet. Use a screwdriver to pry open the access covers and remove the plugs and hoses. Get the ring off holding the fuel pump in place (counterclockwise with a hammer and screwdriver), remove the pump and replace the sensors, one on each side.

It was not the first time I used Dorman part to fix my car, and again it has worked perfect. Saved about 50% cost on this part versus the original one. On my 2007 Santa Fe, I replaced my faulty original fuel sensors with the Dorman ones. They are absolutely identical as the original one, they were easy to install on the fuel pump assembly, and – what is most important – they worked; my Check Engine light went off immediately after the installation. However, to open these two fuel tank covers is a challenge. You must have a Universal Fuel Sender Lock Tool OTC 6599. It took me 4 hours to do the job, but it saved me $500. The key challenge is to gently disconnect all the fuel and electrical connectors. Then, using OTC 6599 and a lot of muscle power gently unscrew both covers. Next, remove the broken sensors, install Dorman ones and reverse the procedure. When closing covers you must hear a loud click signalling you that the covers are fully locked and the tank can be pressurized. You will need a lot of force and the breaking bar to accomplish this.
