Easy to use and fit the vehicle. Just cut it to size, heat the ends in boiling water and insert the metal tube in both ends. I think some small clamps should be included as well. I installed the fuel line and checked it and there were no leaks. VERY IMPORTANT! I did have an engine fire the next day. I’m not saying it was because of the fuel line as it was too far gone to tell the cause but it was in the same area. I would recommend that you maybe install some clamps and check it often for leaks.

I’m sure I could have cut my original line and hoped that the retainer (and barbed union) on this works well, BUT, I chose to keep the original elbow and keep the line in one piece. I don’t trust any unnecessary union, unless it would save me from replacing a whole line!
From what I’ve read and seen, if you have a 3800 series and fuel leaking right where the elbow joins to the fuel rail, it’s almost definitely the washers (I reused my plastic spacer)… it took some work to get them out intact though, be careful to not ruin the o-ring!!!
Use a bent finish nail, small crochet hook or improvise and slide it up the plastic spacer until right when you feel it slide off and you’re at the bottom of the first of three O-rings, fishing them out with cautious touch is easier than removing the plastic spacer to get at them!

If you have GM 3.8L with some age and miles on it, you’ve probably experienced a dangerous situation. The fuel fitting that feeds the injector rail leaks gasoline all over a hot engine. I am very lucky that my car did not catch fire. This is a good safe fix and much easier and cost-effective than replacing the entire fuel line. I used this in conjunction with Dorman 800-228 Fuel Line Compression Union instead of the included inline barbed fitting which can be tricky to install.

I used this to fix the fuel leak on my 2001 Buick Lesabre. I wasn’t able to get both ends seated all the way, even using boiling water. However, I got it on most of the way and added a small hose clamp for good measure and it works well.

I put this on my GM 3800 after I got tired of smelling gas in the car. The part woked great but the insturctions were a little weak:
1) you have to completely remove the lower plastic sleeve on the fuel rail
2) measure and cut the old line off before the S-curve so the splice is in a straight line
2) it is best to soak this part in boinling water and insert the metal coupling while in your house
3) then take the hot water outside and slowly pour it over the end you just cut off
4) quickly insert the other end of the metal coupling to the old line (especially in January)
5) just to be sure, put a couple small cable ties on the splice
The new coupling then simply snaps on the fuel rail. Done. Now I dont’ get dizzy while driving and my fuel mileage has increased.

By the time we had enough heat to expand and push the tube onto a connector on the open end it mushed instead of going over the threads… not impressed with this product..
