This fitting with fuel line already attached was a real Godsend. Use a heat gun to warm up the other end of the fuel lines for the included brass fitting. Take your time heating up those ends. Once you can barely detect the smell of smoldering plastic, it’s ready!
This may take you several attempts. I would practice your technique on the new line in this kit, as there is plenty of it, in case you have to try, try again.
If you don’t have enough existing fuel line for any margin of error, you may want to order a length of the nylon fuel line just to practice on.

Used this to fix a Ford fuel line, what a blessing this repair kit is. I did opt to use a steel to nylon compression fitting instead, works much better in my opinion.

Worked perfectly on a 2002 ford Taurus. I damaged the connector when I took of an old rusty fuel filter. If you put the end of the fuel line in just boiling water fo 2 minutes it will slide right over the barb cnnector. If you don’t do this you won’t get the fuel line all the way up the barb. One tip is to put the repair end in boiling water in the house and slide the barb in that end first. Then take that just boiling water in a glass out to th car, put the car end fuel line in that for 2 minutes then the barb already on the the repair end will slip right onto the end on the car. Done in 5 minutes! I had a hair dryer ready in case I needed extra heat but it was not needed as the just boiling water for 2 minutes was more than enough. Note the tool included is the release tool you need when you take off the connecer from the fuel filter.

Part worked great. Took off 1 star because of the difficulty in getting the connections done. I used a heat gun to soften tubing, boiling it in water did not work good at all. So far so good, only been about 2 months since did the repair. Will do update later if issues arise with the product.

  5. Amazon Customer

The first time I bought this item, it was from Amazon, and the part number on the bag was correct, but the part inside had a straight fitting on the end of it, and not a 90 degree fitting. The second time I bought this part, it was directly from Rock Auto, and the correct fitting was on the end of the tube, but the small plastic clip was missing, so I ended up using the one from the part from Amazon. These are also incredibly hard to use with the barbed connecter supplied. The whole boiling the tube in water does soften it, but you need finger strength like Hercules to fit the barbed fitting the whole way in. I recommend using the Dorman 800-191 quick connect. Although it had no instructions, and it took me a bit of time to get it right, here is how I did it. Push the fuel line in as far as you can get it to go. Then, while using wire strippers (because of the wedge on the jaws) to hold the blue protruding piece outward, push in again on the line. Do the same on the other side.

one size does not fit all mustang fuel lines. Measure before ordering. I cut the fitting off and it did not fit. Had to replace compete fuel line from filter.
