This is the second Dorman I have installed on my Jeep JK. Sits in the sun all day and the plastic (nylon?) parts just fall apart. The window itself is fine. The Dorman regulator/motor assembly just performed better than I expected. The directions included with the product were not that great, but a Google search showed up some UTube videos that were OK. First one took hours to install. The second one was done in less than an hour. They have been in now for a month or more and both work great. I would highly recommend Dorman products.

The motor and rail are not interchangeable with OEM motor and rail. This is basically 2 parts you have to use them together. The gear on the new motor has no lead in taper, making it a little frustrating to mesh the gears, during reassemble on the door panel. I slightly enlarged the 3 holes in the black plastic part with a 9/32 drill. The engineers on this part need a refresher on GD&T.

Not direct fit for wranglers without factory power windows, without heavy modification and creativity.

Does not work with 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited unless you want to replace the entire window assembly. I just needed the motor so it did not work for me.

Bought and installed this regulator 8mo ago.. it has already failed.. winter in Las Vegas don’t have to roll down the window much..
