I installed this in a friend’s vehicle. The dealer told him $600 for the repair, I did it with this product for half. I am a handy individual, but I had never worked on an Acura before and this took me 2-3 hours to replace. With this product, its about as “plug and play” as you get. There are three bolts that hold the motor to the door and two or four (can’t recall) that hold the trac to the glass. plug in a connector and thats it. There are plenty of how-to videos online; even if you are not mechanically inclined, I would recommend doing this repair yourself. I did the repair about a month ago, the unit shows no sign of defect. I also had reason to call dorman about a different product and got connected to US based personnel that could help immediately. I am confident that if I had a problem with one of their products, I could get it fixed easily.
I have bought other dorman products before and never had an issue. I recommend this product, and I recommend this company. Good products, nice people.

I purchased this item for a 2001 Acura MDX. Using a forum called mdxers.org I was able to get step by step instructions on removing the door panel without breaking anything. The part I was sent was a perfect match and included two screws for the assembly (note: 9 screws will be needed in total so salvage the other screws from the broken assembly). The job was a breeze, the holes lined up correctly and the window works like a charm.
Point of advice: While you are installing the motor of the assembly, use a screwdriving in the top right assembly screw hole to hold the window up.
Point of advice: When trying to screw the window to the assembly (after the assembly has been mounted), the assembly mount will not be fully in the down position, you will need to connect the power motor and connect the window button in order to get the assembly in the fully down position. You should then be able to see the holes int the door panel give you access to position the screws correctly THROUGH the door sheet metal

Fit my 2004 MDX perfectly, and worked as expected. Installation instructions were accurate, but not really that descriptive (and no pictures, so you need to supplement from the web or know what you are looking for). But overall, very happy with the price, fit, and function. Took longer to get the door panel off than to remove / install the mechanism!

A huge money saver and a quality part.
I saved more than $400 buying this regulator on Amazon versus the Acura dealership. The 558 part is for the driver’s side rear door. It fit perfectly and was easy to install on my 2004 Acura MDX. The instructions included were very descriptive but I just downloaded a PDF online that had nice pictures. The install took me under an hour.

I bought this product to replace the window motor in the left rear door of a 2004 Acura MDX. The instructions could be better, but other then that the product fit perfectly in the Acura’s door and works just as well as the OEM part. My local Acura dealer wanted $235 for the replacement part plus installation. My advice, save the money and so it yourself. Three quick notes; Before attempting this repair, watch a youtube video to see if your comfortable attempting the repair yourself (note this was my first attempt at such a repair and it only took my 1:30), 2nd buy a decent trim removal tool ($6 to $15), and 3rd have a hair dryer ready to heat the adhesive when replacing the plastic weather barrier between the metal door and interior door panel in order to create a good seal.

This was my first window regulator replacement. I found you could buy them for anywhere between $45 and $200, so I bought something in the middle of that range. They may all be from the same manufacturer, I don’t know. This one seemed to be of reasonable quality and it operates smoothly. I did lub it during installation. Would buy again.
