I used it to my 2004 Honda Pilot

This was way cheaper than paying Safelite to come and replace. I just watched a YouTube video and was finished in about 30 mins. The part works and I will definitely be buying again when I need to do the other window regulators.

I purchased this window regulator in the middle of 2021 and it gave out around the middle of 2024. This isn’t a terrible life-span, but I feel like it’s insufficient for my expectations. I’d prefer a part like this last a minimum of 5-10 years. I’d love to see it last any longer, but I realize even OEM regulators are likely to give out as a vehicle gets older. While it’s possible I’d consider this model again, I chose to try something different this time.

Watch different YT vids to get the full picture about how to easily install this. Be careful not to drop screws inside the door or they will be gone. Pay attention to exactly how the old assembly is positioned when you pull it out. This is key to putting the new one in. It seems simple, but really held things up when I couldn’t visualize how the new one was supposed to be positioned. The whole process took longer than expected, but was very satisfying knowing how much money I saved and that I did it myself. Good luck!

Installed the front drivers side on 2007 Pilot. Was thinking I had a defective unit until I researched more online. The two videos I watched did not mention this important step. Not sure if it pertains to all years but I had to plug in the door light in order for the regulator motor to run. This is needed to line up the window bolts to the regulator. Never would have guessed the circuit would not work without doing so.

My window started going down by itself due to gravity…turns out the cable broke on my old regulator.
Ordered this and got it next day, had the door opened up, old one out and new one bolted in in about 45 minutes. Got stuck for a bit after plugging in the window control switches, the three passenger windows would operate, but drivers window (which I was fixing) would not, preventing me from getting the trolley to the right height to bolt the window back in. Eventually plugged back in the door panel (which contains a light) and then the drivers window started working allowing me to complete the job. Just over an hour total, only needed a screwdriver, 10mm socket and a trim tool.

Great quality and operates smoothly. You must plug the wire harness of the door markers in or it will not work even if the harness for the switch is plugged in. I thought I had a bed regulator until I plugged in the door marker harness

Perfect fit, can’t beat the price, better than OEM quality. I’m getting good at replacing Honda Pilot window regulators, this was the 3rd on our 05 Pilot. The first was a passenger side rear unit; plastic drive cable attachment clip broke, window went open. Same thing happened on the driver side rear… had to buy those 2 locally because my wife preferred to drive with the window(s) shut in 20 degree weather. Each cost me over $80 at NAPA. When the driver front window refused to open, I discovered that the motor resistance was less than 1 Ohm (should be 3 – 4 Ohms). The electronic drive system for the window saw the high current being drawn by the motor and cut off current to the motor immediately… no movement at all. Since the window was fully closed, I had time to order from Amazon (Prime). This is the exact regulator (auto up/down) for $57 including 2 day shipping. This regulator costs $108 at NAPA because of the auto up/down feature. It took me 45 minutes to install it (2 bolts holding the window to the old regulator were hard to get at… use a box end wrench, it’ll take a few minutes each). Caution: Buy some white lithium grease and liberally grease the surface and edges of the cable guide/slides, the new regulator was nearly dry in these areas.
The Dorman regulator from Amazon looks identical to the NAPA / Dorman regulators, so save yourself some money. The only unknown in all of this is whether the Amazon sourced parts have a warranty… there was nothing in the box saying so. The NAPA regulators have warranties.

This is a quality item, easy to install, great instructions, and a number of excellent videos of the installation online. Very fast free shipping! Automotive and dealer repair shops want $350-$500 to complete this window regulator removal and installation. You can do this job for the cost of the Dorman regulator which is less than $70.00 and 2-3 hours of your time, well worth it! Requires very few common hand tools. This Dorman Regulator was an exact fit, see their website to see the quality Manufactuering facility and processes. Dorman stands behind their products in the unlikely event that there is an issue. This is my second installation of a Dorman 2007 Honda Pilot Regulator, the first one is still operating perfectly after several years. Highly recommend the Dorman Regulator for, durability, price and quality!
