The back door on my 2005 Honda CRV stopped locking remotely. I had to use the key. This worked as a perfect replacement for the lock mechanism. The only problem is that the part is buried in the door and hard to get to. Use YouTube to get to it. Replacing the part itself is not too bad. Not the simplest. Set aside an hour or two.

I didn’t not install the product myself, but was inform my family member that it’s easy install with right tools. I purchase this item for my trunk lock, it had become faulty after 17 years. This was cheaper than buying from auto zone. Item was as describe

Fits my Honda Accord LX 4 door 2001. I ordered two for both the right doors as they were either worn out or broken. The front replacement was easy after removing the window rail and anti-theft clamp. However the rear replacement required me to swap out hinges from the old actuator. Couldn’t find anywhere that listed the rear specifically. The hinges are held together by a hollow rod which is pinched at the end.
Also while the actuator will ‘snap’ open and closed like the OEM ones would, after any power locking operation these actuators feels mushy for the first open/lock. Perhaps they need a little burn in? I’ll update if there’s ever a change to their operation….

My 2005 CRV SE just recently at 117,000 miles, the front drivers door, and the rear hatch stopped locking with the remote. Upon further investigation I found it to be faulty door lock actuators. You can get them for anywhere from $10 (cheap junk) – $60ish (OEM Honda). I went with the middle ground as Dorman has always been a solid aftermarket company.
They are a little tricky to install but there are plenty of youtube videos to help you with that.
This door actuator is for the CRV’s manufactured in Great Britain, you can tell by looking at your vin number, if it starts with an “S” this is for you.
They are working fine now, but only time will tell, I will update the review if they fail prematurely.
