This one looked right from the beginning. Some appearance differences but otherwise an exact replacement. I had the door opened up from the troubleshooting days, with the cross member removed. I put the replacement part in in less that two hours, maybe closer to one hour. Everything fit, bolts and nuts went right back into place, and most importantly, it worked on first try (after I remembered to turn on the key). Instructions are too generic, so get some specifics from online. Take your time, especially with removal of the interior door panel. You can’t replace the motor only on this kind of regulator (with the cables) so bite the bullet and get this entire assembly. I do not recommend the cheapy versions. aloha…

Purchased this in August 2017 as a replacement for my drivers side door. Early November 2017, the motor died, with the window only being able to open about 1″ before it would stop. Opened up the door and found the blue potted material covering the wires exiting the regulator motor had melted off, which indicates to me that the device was overheating. Being that I’m from Phoenix, I wasn’t actually running the window up and down much in the time I had it installed. Buyer beware.

Worked well initially but after 2 years of very minor use (only drive my car 4 months of the year and during winter so not a lot of rolling the window up and down) it has slipped off the pulley and broken beyond repair. Very disappointed as I feel as though I just replaced this.. Will be purchasing from a different brand this time around for sure

I’ve had it in for about 2 weeks. It was fairly easy to install, if you are the type that feels comfortable with this sort of job. The entire package was plug and play. No splicing or anything like that. I did go in with my meter and check to see if the switch/power cord were still supplying voltage.
The only issue I had was that there was a slight clicking when I first rolled the window down or up. This was an easy fix – I had left the screws that hold the glass in place slightly loose. After the glass had been up and down a few times I tightened these bolts and the sound went away.
I’m going to give it five stars for these first two weeks. If possible, I’ll edit if I run into any more issues.

3rd UPDATE!! Dorman has now replaced 2 units free of charge and with next day shipping. They have been excellent to work with and are standing behind their products. Also, the one I just received seems to be updated and a better quality part (pulley areas where cables run are improved). I also noticed that the movement tolerances were much better than the previous 2 units. I hope this will be the last time I have to replace the window regulator!! Thanks again Dorman!
Previous reviews and info below:
Dorman replaced first defective unit with no issues (great customer service) and now the replacement unit has also failed in 9 months. Same crunching issue in the motor and thankfully I got the window up and in the closed position. I need to know where to request a return or refund. I’ve never had an issue with Dorman’s other products I’ve owned and now I have two dead window units within 7 and 9 months of installation. Similar to the previous unit, this one also seemed to travel a tiny bit further than it should from the beginning…like the tolerances weren’t tight enough. There is no adjustment that can be made to the unit to stop the excess travel and it seems that the extra up and down force of the motor may be causing the premature failure of the items.
See previous info below. Worked well for 7 months and is now “crunching” inside the door and not moving the window up as it should. Installation was easy. Plug and play. Was worried from the get go because the motor didn’t seem to stop immediately after reaching the end of the window’s travel range, like the OE Toyota unit did for 230,000 miles. This one seemed to try to push past the stop points for a moment. No travel adjustments to be made. Might have just got a bad one but now Amazon says it is out of warranty and Dorman says it is warrantied for life but need to go through the original seller. Waiting to hear from Amazon, I guess. I am willing to give the brand another chance due to the many positive reviews but don’t want to pay for another one after only 7 months.
UPDATE: The vendor sent a replacement free of charge and with super fast shipping. EXCELLENT customer service!

I ordered this to replace the broken regulator on my Camry and it works just as well. Not extremely difficult to install and responds well once it is in. Much cheaper than some of the other models I saw and probably works just as well. A very suitable replacement all in all.

Perfect fit and worked fine but failed in only 6 months. Very disappointing.

I was able to pop this regulator right into the driver’s door of my 1992 Camry LE. The carrier trolly is made of plastic (just like the factory regulator). That is what failed on my original; but hey it lasted 20 years. The motor on the Dorman is not as heavy weight as the factory but otherwise the Dorman appears well built. Will I get another 20 years? Maybe not but the price is fair for this unit. Would buy again.

I bought two of these. One for the front driver’s side window, then again a little later for the front passenger side window. The hardest part is probably taking the door apart without cracking the door handle. And it’s a little tricky if your window gets stuck shut. But.. This Dorman replacement works very well! It’s quiet, smooth, and very affordable. I think the last time we got the power window fixed at a shop it was $400, and that was many many years ago. You can really save a lot of money by doing this yourself.
A+ for this part though. Works great and I now have two of these in our Camry and would definitely buy it again.

One of the plastic pieces of this window assembly exploded in the front drivers door of my girlfriends 1994 Camry sedan. Local parts store wanted around $200 for this so came to amazon and purchased this. Had the old assembly removed and this one installed in about 15 minutes which included removing/installing the door panel. This has worked perfectly for about a month now.
DormanProducts dot com shows this will fit a 92-96 Toyota Camry Sedan.
tip: After removing the door panel, manually lift the window up all the way up then stick painters tape or duct tape to the outside of the window up and over the door frame to the inside of the window. The tape will hold the glass in place while you’re working. There’s lots of instructions and even video of this install, google it.
