Bought this for my 07 wrangler. It was a little tricky to replace but with the caliper and rotor off it was pretty easy. Fixed the problem after about 30 seconds of driving. Hopefully it last a while.

This part fixed my ABS dashboard warning light in a 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler rear wheel.
The ten dollar price was 1/10 what the dealer would have charged, and less than half of what the local “discount” auto parts store charges. If you’re a do-it-yourselfer you can install the part quicker than a trip to the professionals would take.
The difficult part of this sort of repair is diagnosis: knowing that the trouble is a faulty wheel speed sensor, and which wheel is faulty. The OBD scan code U1417 only indicated an implausible speed from the left side, and didn’t isolate the problem to front/rear or even the wheel speed sensor. It’s as if the computer is teasing you to take the car in for high-priced work, only enough information to scare but not to inform the diagnosis. You can get OBD codes “for free” on the Jeep when you flip the ignition switch to run three times, or hook up an OBD reader like an ELM327. But when it comes to ABS problems, the OBD codes are not informative. The only way I solved this was with the ELM327 and an app called AlfaOBD, which even in the free version reads ABS module codes and sensors. The app graphed the sensor speed signals while I drove, and showed which wheel was faulty. Another app called OBD Jscan can also read sensors in the paid version.
Dorman supplies decent quality aftermarket parts. This Dorman item is made in China, but that’s everything these days.

2015 JK rubicon, 3 inch lift, 35’s…stopped by O’Reilly auto part store to read ABS code (free service) said it was a “rear Antilock brake module.” Not knowing if it was left or right, I ordered two of these replacement sensors. Watched a YouTube video to clarify installation…and set to work. Replaced “right rear” first (above picture is the old one), and of course it didn’t clear the ABS light! So, replaced “left rear”, and 15ft down the driveway, ABS lights turned off…went for a long drive, threw it into 4wd, played in some mud…works fine! I can’t speak of their longevity, hopefully it’ll last a while, they seem robust as OEM. And alot cheaper. Simple install, only a few tools needed. Would buy again.

Had a traction control & ABS light come on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I’ve had it happen a couple of times with vehicles over the years, so I knew it was likely an ABS wheel speed sensor. I have an OBD programmer to correct my speedometer for the larger tires I run on the Jeep, part of that tool is to read codes. It stated “No signal, left rear ABS sensor” which makes it easy to know which one to replace. Looked at a YouTube video to see where it was located. Once I got under the Jeep, it took about 10 minutes to change. That’s a win for $16, as it was $240 to have it done at a dealership last time.
Pro-Tip: don’t take the red clip all the way off the plug, it won’t want to slide back in when you plug it back onto the new sensor.
