I’m hoping this manifold lasts, I purchased the same about 11 yes ago the cast iron had deteriorated where the manifold pipe connected causing an irreparable exhaust leak thus I had to replace it

Worked as it should. After you run it for a few day go back and snug the bolts.

Good quality piece. You can tell they used a sand cast or something similar to mold the manifold but they did a good job making a smooth contact surface for the head and exhaust and there were no cracks that I could find. There were some burs on the inside of the ports which I filed down a bit just to avoid possible build up (not necessary really). As for the heat-shield which I noticed some said looked like tin that was beat with a hammer, it was still in better condition than the factory one I had and there were a few areas where you can see that metal overlapped during the stamping process, but I didn’t noticed anything like being crushed or hammered upon. It dose its job. I was also skeptical of gaskets at first but upon inspection on arrival, they were on par if not better than OEM gaskets and other aftermarket gaskets I had already used, the studs were a nice touch as I was constantly fumbling with bolts to hold my exhaust to my old manifold. I do recommend buying a stud set for your head if you don’t already have them (I did not due to having just replaced it). When you fire the vehicle up upon first installation, let it reach temperature in a well ventilated area (which is were you should be in the first place since you’re working on a vehicle) as I found oil and other substances that had gotten onto the heat shield and the manifold began burning off and created quite a cloud.(I had taken it straight onto the road and local LEO’s thought I had something wrong with my truck)

Don’t rely on these guys sending gaskets, from what other reviews I’ve seen on here they seem to like forgetting them. I received mine with almost all gaskets with the exception of one of the donuts that go on the flange for the collector. Casting seemed okay but majorly lacked in finish work. Had to file on it for a solid 30 minutes just to get some of the nuts to seat to my liking. Also saw where someone had mentioned they thought that the studs/nuts provided for the collector flange were the wrong thread pitch, I thought so too but after further examination the nut is actually made like that, you can tell this by seeing the hole on the top of the nuts aren’t truly round. I guess this is to prevent them from backing off over time. (1989 Toyota Pickup Reg. Cab Standard Bed)

Rather disappointing as expected, but since there were no reasonable alternatives it’s what you get. Of the 2 down pipe gaskets, one was missing and the other badly bent from the weight of the manifold. The 3 hex nuts were included but were not the right size so they were useless (diameter matched the studs but the pitch was different). Flange surface to mate with the head was pretty rough and chipped but so far seems to be sealing ok after a couple days. It was definitely rougher than the previous Dorman manifold that was being replaced after about 5 years. On the positive side this manifold did mate well with my new Bosal down pipe (“exhaust front pipe”). However in my prior experience the Walker down pipe was not a good combination. Also, be wary of trying to get a generic (Bosch) O2 sensor to fit. OEM/Denso O2 sensor worked fine though.

The manifold fit perfect. It was a lot easier to install than I anticipated. All hardware & gaskets were there & fit exactly.
My old truck is back to sounding quiet again. Also, I received the item very quickly. Thank you for the great service. I would buy again from this seller.

EXCELLENT QUALITY FOR THE PRICE! After I received mine in the mail I brought it to a local Toyota dealership who happened to have an OEM Toyota 22R exhaust manifold in stock. They allowed me to compare the two and other then the fact that this one is made in China while the Toyota one is made in Japan, you can’t tell the difference. As a matter of fact the gaskets that come with this kit are actually of better quality then the Toyota OEM ones. They are slightly thicker and not as easily bendable as the Toyota ones. I would say it took me about 2 hours to remove my old manifold and install this one. I took my time and made sure to slowly tighten all 8 nuts up to 31lbs. All the manuals say you can set them from anywhere between 26 and 34lbs so I decided to go right in the middle. So far all my previous leaks are gone and my engine is running much smoother.
I MUST mention that the heatshield bolt holes go completely through so I decided to put a small amount of Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper RTV Silicone sealant around the underside of the bolt head and the underside of the heatshield (around the bolt hole) and a little bit on the threads. I didn’t trust just the bolts to make a good air tight seal. Both the OEM Toyota and the Dorman manifold have the holes going completely through which really seems odd to me. My original manifold had the holes sealed either by the factory or by someone else so I didn’t expect them to go clear through the manifold. So again, make sure to either plug the holes like I did or if you don’t intend to use the heatshield at least make sure to plug them with the provided bolts while using some copper RTV sealant.

Very nice product and the quality looks good but time will tell.I am missing 1 of the donut gaskets, disappointing, plastic package was opened and the box was opened previously, looks like someone just needed a gasket and now I am out $4 more.I ordered high heat ceramic spray paint so the naked cast iron won’t rust. The other gaskets seem to be good quality. FYI I did the install on 3/12/2025 and everything went well except for the heat shield,it hits the coolant crossover tube so I cut and notched it to fit the tube and fit well afterwards. Looks good now.I also painted the manifold with high heat gloss black and it looks great.
