To change out the a stripped out oil pan on a Ford F150 1993 costs a small fortune. This is an easy fix that works.

Garbage, lasted 200 miles, then started pissing oil all over the cats which could have started a fire. I only noticed because of the smoke show in my rear view mirror. I had to pull over and shut down the car. It left me stranded, thank God for AAA. The rubber was split, I think the hot oil caused it to swell and eventually split.

Works very well on a 2000 Honda ATV. Drain plug hole was stripped and this is a cheap and easy fix. I have not had any oil leaks. The ATV is on it’s second oil change using this model plug. Was hoping to get another use on the first plug but the rubber got a little chewed up taking it out, so I put a new one in It does stick out about an inch but does not stick out farther than the skid plate so no problem with that.

  4. Neb Erodagas

Works in a 2011 Chevy Cruze.

about 10 years ago my mother’s oil pan threads became stripped by an over zealous mechanic at the dealership and the dealership wouldn’t own up to it. I bought this for a temporary solution until I had the funding to replace the oil pan (it’s an Acura, not fun to replace). 10 years later and rotating 3 of these plugs I still didn’t replace the oil pan. The rubber is great quality, all molded once piece and the metal components are all grade 8. You can’t really see it in the pictures, but there’s a plate under the wing nut that this clicks into once tight enough so it won’t back out.

I wouldn’t say if your threads have been stripped just swap over to this, but in 10 years and zero problems, I wouldn’t have too much of an issue with it.

I used to do all my own minor car repair so I knew it was done right. After 4 heart attacks I have to let others do it. The oil plug on my new car had been stripped and GLUED by some idiot before I got this car, so when the grease monkey at walmart said they woulgnt change my cars oil, i had this as a back up, just in case.U Tube has guys that know what they are doing on this stuff, and I wish I could get one to fix MY CAR !. But I take their advice and prepare for worst. This plug was the last resort for the idiot that worked on my oil change/ gas filter/ etc…
Its holding up great, but its Temporary, Till I find a guy thats better at car repair. Something like this is Priceless when 1 quart of oil is $5 and a blown engine is not an option any more these days.

Itsnow been a couple months and still working, I even boiled out my radiator (caught it just in time), and its still ok a week later. I did buy another one for the next oil change, Soon !

Just plug and turn works perfect!

  8. Steve cook

This was a perfect solution for a cracked oil reservoir on my old ATV. A quick and inexpensive fix. Just be sure you don’t make contact with the ground. The first plug was torn off and leaked oil on my garage floor.

  9. Mymondi

    Does what it should do.

  10. Senfoura

For 2007 Honda pilot this did not work due to the fact that the Pilot uses a long screw and the part of this that goes in the whole is too short. You screw this in but you can still pull it out. Might work for replacing shorter screws.
