My transfer case actuator was no longer engaging the 4WD in my Blazer. This part fits perfectly and works like a charm. I had to disconnect the front driveshaft in order to gain enough clearance to replace the motor.

As another reviewer has mentioned, your vehicle needs to be in 4HI so that you can position the part correctly. If you don’t (or can’t) do this then you will have to do it manually from underneath the vehicle by fiddling with your transfer case. This proved to be a little tricky but we were able to ultimately do it.

    Exact fit, good value.

Arrived quickly and worked. The motor didn’t go up all the way when bolted on but after tightening bolts pulled up to the transfer case and worked as expected.

Buyer Beware, Transfer case motor failed after the one month warranty was up. Quality was evidently sub-par and now I’m out over $100 for the part and mechanics fees. Definitely think twice before buying.

I ran into a situation where I needed 4wd, but all the button press would do is result in a flashing indicator light and no 4×4. I followed the diagnostic chart to narrow it down to the transfer case motor. I have found Dorman products to meet or exceed OE specifications and oftentimes Dorman actually does their “OE Plus” or “OE Fix” parts where they identify and address the issues with the OE part that failed to prevent it from happening again.

I removed the front drive shaft and was able to get this installed without any difficulty. Just follow the instructions to make sure the transfer case is in the correct gear before you install the motor or you’ll end up fighting it. 4×4 now works again!

    Just like factory

It may not be AC Delco but it better reviews and at a better price. Sometimes you need to look outside of the box.

This item was very well priced and excellent quality. It works great

Worked perfect. Replaced my seized shift motor with this one and 4wd works great now.

This part fit right, and works great. One helpful trick to installing this: The transfer case MUST be in the 4-hi mode to install the new part. But often when the old part fails, the truck won’t shift at all. This is because when the Transfer Case Control Module detects that the transfer case is not in the commanded position, the TCCM will stop trying to shift the transfer case. Disconnecting the battery for half an hour or so will reset the TCCM, and allow you to shift the transfer case into 4-hi. Then just remove the front drive shaft, remove the electrical connector and unbolt the motor. Be careful when installing the new motor not to move the shift mechanism. If you have a lot of miles on your truck, you might want to replace the the u-joint on front drive shaft while you have it out. If you don’t need to do the u-joint, total time for this job is about an hour.
