Grease Monkey –
Worked great, my old one was getting really slow, finally i started having issues coming out of 4×4, i always kept a scan tool just incase i needed to clear the error so i could try again.
Then last weekend it got much worse, the error code stayed and it got really flakey.
I finally replaced this and the front axle disconnect solenoid.
Once installed, I had to disconnect my battery and reconnect it before it allowed me to test, until i did that i was getting a new error suggesting a power/wiring issue.
Once the battery was disconnected and reconnected, 4×4 engages and disengaged faster than ever!

To start out…by this one! Just so there’s no confusion.
However, I did purchase the one that’s half price for $100.
Which, after installing that cheap one I still had the same codes regarding my four-wheel-drive, not shifting properly.
At this point, I ended up bringing my vehicle to Mechanic , and after his troubleshooting he blamed the motor which I said was new.
He asked me what brand motor I bought and I told him the cheap Chinese brand whatever.
The mechanic told me to get rid of it and buy a factory replacement like the one here.
Purchased this Dorman brand and a few bolts, and a plug later my truck and four-wheel-drive shifting was working again. Do not be fooled by the low-cost replacement parts.
Just saying.

Took about 15 minutes to swap out, and now I have 4wd again. Hardest part was lining up the gears to match the transfer case. Was quoted close to $900 by a dealership, and nearly $700 by a shop. Did myself for under $300.

Easy installation, perfect fit, and fixed the “Service 4×4” message on my 2018 Silverado. For those looking I believe the torque spec on the bolts for the motor call for somewhere between 13 and 15 ft/lb.

Dorman products are great. I had the service 4wd message come up on my 13 sierra and had a code for the encoder motor. I ordered the dorman product as it’s a better quality item and I was familiar with their product. Installation was a perfect fit and the problem with my 4wd was fixed in minutes and saved me hundreds of dollars.

Wasted a bunch of time with previous models that were under 100.00 dollars!

Facile à installé ( 30 minutes ) . Programmation par moi-même.
J`avais dépensé 500$ chez concessionnaire GM et n`avait pas réglé
mon problème.

Arrived with one day prime and already installed. Fixed the “Service 4wd” message in my 2010 Silverado 1500. Shifts great and best of all I have 4wd once again! Seeing as how it is a Dorman part I expect it won’t have any more issues for quite a while. They usually make fairly long lasting OE replacement parts.

As a parts salesman I have used a lot of the Dorman parts and sold a lot to and thus was is great price. A 40 torx head socket and10 minutes later done but before you buy or install this motor try removing the 30 Amp fuse in spot 6 on the passenger side under the hood. Do this while the engine is running, In neutral and the park brake set to reset the TCCM. Then try you 4 wheel drive selector. It worked on mine.

This fit perfectly into my 2009 GMC Yukon. It’s held on with three bolts in one wire connector. The OEM part was over $500 and this was a great price as an aftermarket replacement. It did not need to be reprogrammed and worked right away.
