Eduardo Alba –
I installed these tensioners that were tight and like new ford parts with I had them out of the box.
Ended up chasing down a knock that turned out to be chain slap.
Took the tensioners off just now to find a glue like plastic all over the bolts and on the back of the tensioners.
Now they are useless and weak. Seals held up but whatever is inside didnt and it sent some kind of way gritty garbage through my engine. After installing I had to do rod bearings and found there was debris that went through and scored up a few bearings.
Either these are not real dorman parts or dorman went downhill recently.
I ended up buying the iron ratcheting tensioners to install.

Don’t buy these tensioners. They lasted 2,158 miles. They messed my sprockets gears. I had to buy everything again plus labor because of this junk. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Eduardo Alba –
I only got one updated version of the tensioners which was the reason I bought them for but only got one updated version.

Gave out In a couple of minutes, spend the money for oem or cast iron something that will last way longer and be more durable
Dont waste your money. After 2 months started with noises and now only works on hi. Poor quality. Don’t buy it. Simple. Go OEM. –
merci

2 stars because they looked good… got these installed everything went as it should, yes they where installed on the correct sides. Fired the truck up and now it’s worse than before. Both tensioners aren’t working, my old ones with blown seals held the chains tighter than these at new. Thanks to Dorman for wasting another one of my days. Not buying Dorman brand again.

Tensioners were defective and built wrong. OEM tensioners have a small hole on top to lubricate the chain. This tensioners DID NOT have those holes causing my engine to chain rattle A LOT. Much time and labor has lost due to this defective. Plain and simple not built right.
