I got other ones but the set screw was not great. This one had a good set screw and worked well on my throttle cable

I have a custom bike. The throttle cable was longer than I could ever convince you with a mere story. After a while, Must fix that. Putting a cable on that you can’t replace on the road… super bad idea. None of the HD cables were quite right. Too short. So I got these, cut the cable housing to length, likewise the cable, and installed one of these (medium aize). I did some mods, such as drilling one side of the entry hole so it was a funnel-guide, as the next time I use it will be at 22:00 outside of Green River, UT, or somesuch place. It is working for me. I carry a spare cable that is the right length and I soldered the end to contain the strands and make on the road replacement a breeze, plus I think it holds better. It was pretty hard to get it to stick until I used acid paste. You only want a visible amount of solder, if that, and solder before cutting. But you knew that. This is working well for me, and I like the quality. I carry one for my riding partners too. Beats whittling and electrical tape (I’m a longtime rider).
