Awesome customer service. Speedy delivery. Perfect fit. Unbelievable, unbeatable price. Discount Starter and Alternator will be the first place I look next time.

Starter for 2002 Jetta was all I expected it to be! I have encountered no problems whatsoever.
Tha@gnome –
Direct replacement, had it on the car and running in about 45 minutes, that includes removing the old starter. Great product at a more than reasonable price.

The motor is much smaller than stock and importantly the pinion gear much shorter than stock…see pix. My car is a 2001 (series 1) TT quatttro with 1.8L AMU motor (225 hp) with 6 sp MT. Very disappointing.

The item description states that this starter fits a 2000 Jetta 2.0 AEG w/ Manual Trans however this does NOT fit. The starter bolts in and appears to be identical to the OEM Bosch starter. Went to start the car for the first time – GRINDING! Second crank started well – nice power. Tried it for another day, would have to turn the key about 3 times for it to catch. Finally had time to change it out and swap in a re-lubricated old OEM starter later that night. Looked at the flywheel and it showed scoring from the starter gear jamming into it. Vendor did take return. Compared the starter to OEM after removing and it is slightly different.
