I bought this for my early ford 2N. Remember to take the nuts off the long bolts before installing. Those are for keeping the assembly together! Do not pull the gear down the shaft before installing!! It will lock in and It is a pain to get back in the right position! I did by accident. Other than that it installed easy. Started the tractor easy. Did what it was supposed to do. Time will tell how long it lasts! So far so good. I would buy this again if I needed another one!

I put this on my newly rebuilt 1948 Ford 8n tractor. I made the purchase back in January but just put it on the tractor a couple weeks ago. It started the tractor fine until the small gear on the shaft of the starter broke into pieces. They are laying in the bottom of my flywheel housing and the shaft on the starter is more than likely bent. Cheap monkey metal from china I am guessing. Now I have to drain my tractor, get help splitting it apart or pay someone to get those pieces out of my tractor. I should have bought it from a true tractor parts store. The warranty was only 30 days. I would not buy any starters from this company for anything else.
