***BUYER BEWARE on WARRANTY***Installed pump on my 2005 Toyota Sequoia, and the power steering was not working as well as it should and was noisy (droning / whining). I attributed this to air in the lines and as such went through the paces to get it out….still the same lackluster performance, so went to my mechanic to go through the complete system and rule out anything else. They narrowed it down to a faulty pump, so I reached out to Detroit Axle customer service to file a claim under the included 1-year warranty (parts only / no labor….fair enough). What is NOT made clear is that they will charge you between $35-40 to ship out the $70 replacement part. If a company’s part fails on a customer, they should NOT require them to cover shipping as it is their issue to resolve as the manufacturer, not place an additional financial burden on the customer. After an experience like this, it is clear to me who Detroit Axle is as a company, and as such will take my business elsewhere – way too many other alternatives out there to have to tolerate this kind of “warranty supportâ€.
