Richard Pinette –
I bought these for a 2007 ford focus big mistake they pop and bang over potholes when the wheel drops I put the old struts back in and no problem took one apart and found they don’t have enough travel so when the wheel drops in a pothole they make a big bang big waste of money I’m disappointed in Detroit Axle I’ve used other parts from this company and had no problems
Amazon Customer –
one of them fit the other is the wrong size

I’ve bought many parts from them and they always fit. They are direct replacements at a very good price

Shipping from Detroit Axle was fast (actually these arrived a day early). I made the mistake of not checking both when the box arrived. Today when I was installing these on my vehicle, I ran into three problems on the passenger side assembly. First the top mount was 180 degrees reversed (I used a light rubber mallet to spin the mount, but I had to figure out the mount was reversed after I installed the nuts on top). Second was one of the studs on top was not seated into the mount (I was able to put all of the wheel weight on the stud to get it to set as there is no easy way to to set the stud without taking the mount of which would require spring compression tools). Lastly, the alignment hook on the rear of the assembly was at an angle which prevented the bolt from going through it. A little use of the heavy persuasive tool fixed that issues on a few impacts.
Overall, once I got passed the few obstacles, everything seems to be working properly.

this worked on my 2010 nissan maxima. no issues. the auto stores quoted the price of one of these. but here you get 2 for 1. can’t beat that.

These struts have far too heavy springs and will raise the ride height by about an 1 1/4″ inches. The springs are about .007 to .010 inches thicker than stock
This will result in the struts hitting their upper fully extended limit creating loud bang when the suspension unloads rapidly. This can happen when hitting a hole or going over a speed bump. When installed they only provide about an inch or two of upward travel then they’ll bang. If your Focus has a V8 (which I doubt) these would probably work. Not the least thrilled with them.
I can say Detroit Axle provides good axles.
As for the service of Detroit axle I left an online contact me about a week ago, crickets.
It will cost me in the area of 40 to 50 dollars to return what I consider defective stuts.

Made by Monroe and Way Cheaper thru Amazon than anyone else. Easy to install. Most important with this particular product is it comes with sway bar link included! If you are replacing a strut assembly, Always replace the sway bar link!

Installation was easy, but I do see what others have been saying about it sounding like the struts bottoming out on potholes, I plan to look for a solution next opportunity to get it in the air.
