    Direct Replacement on 2002 S10 with 4.3 V6.

    P0155 – 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

If you have any questions on whether this will work “Upstream” of “Downstream” I suggest you go to the Denso Website and look up the part for YOUR car
    (…)
For example, if you look at the attached pic – you can see that this sensor can be used in either location on my 2002 S10 with the V6 engine. Also, this sensor already has the factory type connector on it – Just unplug it and plug the new one in. I see there is a similar sensor on Amazon that just has bare wires…. keep this in mind

Not much to say here.. a Check Engine light turned up a bad O2 sensor so I got this to replace it. It has been a little over a month and no further problems in this regard (knocks on wood). Seems to be a quality part.

This isn’t related to the product necessarily, but when you find out that you need an O2 sensor.. make SURE to figure out which one. You can get your Check Engine light diagnosed for free at a lot of auto part chains (Autozone, Advance Auto, etc). That diagnosis will (at least mine did) tell you which bank and which sensor is bad. Some are upstream, some are downstream. They are different and you don’t want to get the wrong one. This might be pretty basic info, but I just wanted to throw it out there. If my mechanic hadn’t told me exactly what I should be looking to buy, I very well could’ve purchased the wrong part.

My method for finding this one was to do a search on an auto part chain’s website for ‘oxygen sensor’ and find the downstream/upstream ones available that fit my car. Then I took the part number and plugged it in here on Amazon.

One final word, definitely shop around as far as price goes. Some things I have needed for my car (i.e. a new hazard switch.. 13 on Amazon vs 28 from a dealer or Autozone) are available much cheaper on Amazon than at a brick and mortar. Other stuff (new brake caliper.. 50 on Amazon vs 40 from Autozone after the core charge) is actually more expensive. Anything with a core charge (basically you need to bring the old one in when you buy the refurbished/new one.. or you have to pay more) will probably be cheaper at a parts store assuming you have the old one to trade in.

These were used in a GM 2002 Tahoe with the 5.3. There are two different versions for this truck and it is dependent on whether yours was a USA harness on the truck or a Canadian-built harness. They apparently mixed and matched during these years. These O2 sensors are the four post, gray plug, square type which are used on both banks and both upper and downstream sensors. They interchange with one another and will fit the upstream and downstream on these harnesses. This is considered the Canadian harness. The plug will have the two slots on the inside of it which aligns it correctly with the harness. There are variations (I went through a couple of different sets) so make sure to look at your before ordering.

If you have the square plug(like these) on either the upper or downstream sensors AND the flat four post plug on the other set, then you probably have the USA built harness. These sensors will only fit one set of your sensors and I’m referring to the plug style on the harness. You will need to research and find the other Denso O2 sensor that has the flat four plug for your other set. That may be the upper sensors in that case.

Amazon seems to only show sets of these for the USA harness (2 square and 2 flat plugs) which is not accurate in all of these trucks. The sensors are all the same and it is only the plugs that are different. Look to see which set you have before ordering and it will save you the time, effort, and the headaches it caused me.

These cleared up a minor rough idle in my truck as it can now read the air fuel mixture more efficiently and adjust as needed. Stick with Denso if you want OEM quality and hassle free headaches.

Hope that helps out some others in this situation.

Fits perfectly in a 2003 Buick Century upstream. I bought an off brand and it died in 3 days. This is the oem part and it works great.

I kept reading articles stating use only the Delco sensor but after reading some review on the Denso 234-4650 Oxygen Sensor I decided to give this part a try and it worked perfectly. One thing, installing the part will not automatically always turn off the check engine light, I had to do this manually with my code reader/ tester. After doing so, I had to reprogram the computer, so I drove the car on the expressway for several mile until the car computer finally got a reading on all sensors and the O2 sensor came up as OK. I been using the car for a month now with the new sensor and the service light so far, has not come on.

The installation was straight forward with use if an O2 sensor socket. You can rent one of the kits for free from Canadian Tire or PartSource. It was Plug and Play but I only noticed a difference in fuel economy after about two fill ups. My oxygen sensor has never been changed so the fuel economy was definitely noticeable. Keep in mind that this particular oxygen sensor was the one before the catalytic converter known as the fuel to air sensor.

It came in fast, did the job and the car passed inspection
