Unfortunately, I was the victim of an attempted battery theft. Thief actually cut my two positive cables, in an attempt to get out quick. Thief was caught. Ground post clamp on our 2006 Mitsubishi Gallant broke. Watched YouTube videos of guys soldering cables and thought there was a better way. This device makes for a quick and solid fix. Even though the layout in the Gallant is a bit odd it only took me about a half hour. You may need a cable cutting tool if you don’t have others to do that task as I do. That and some electrical tape, anyone could do this.

Works like a charm. Quick and easy to install and does the job. Only issue I have is that this is the second one I’ve been through, and the first was so corroded after time that I had to cut the battery-terminal clip off to remove it. Trying to unbolt it just wound up with the thin terminal-clip metal deforming, so the bolt wouldn’t turn.

The idea behind this kit is solid, but its manufacture isn’t. The gauge of the wiring is good and thick, the clamp(so far) is rock solid, but the join tubes(the actual name escapes me) only use the bolts on one side, where you insert your line. Practically, this means that if you’re trying to fit this into limited space under the hood of your car(as I have – thanks, Chrysler) and you’re twisting it around to fit, it’s entirely possible that the wiring that goes to the clamp will pop out of the tube. I ended up getting a separate splice joiner(again, name escapes me), ripped off the bronze piece from this one, and now it’s fixed and done. I’d get this kit again, don’t get me wrong, but it would be an excellent thing if they bolted down the wiring on both sides.
