Installed and it fired up timing was jumping with a swing of 6 degrees, tracked it down to the ring that fits on the dist shaft was too loose. changed back to points and timing held and advanced steady. This is the second one I ordered first was DOA same part different seller.

This is a fantastic product for the money. It is easy to install, incredibly affordable, and it can be used with a regular 12v Bosch coil. Other brands are crazy expensive and require the use of their own specialized coils or plug wires. This system, in contrast, however, is purely plug-and-play. I have had no issues with this electronic ignition. In the future, this is all I would recommend for any who are hoping to get electronic ignition for their classic VWs. The only negative about this product is that it does not include very good instructions and the ring included can be a bit tight. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there for how to install these properly and I recommend that you use a thin, electronics-safe lubricant like a spray-on silicone to install any stubborn rings.

I got a new distributer for my 1971 VW Super Beetle (part # VW06 from O’Reilly Auto Parts), for $63.99. I drove it around until the points in it started to burn. I found this electronic ignition module on Amazon and after reading some of it’s reviews I decided to give it a try. Some of the reviews mentioned they didn’t get a good fit. I expected I might have to return it. I first tried it in my old worn out distributor. The pick up coil fit but the the ring hole diameter was to small. When I tried it in my new distributor all of it was a perfect fit. (Installation). Put the little tube of white heat insulation grease on the bottom side the pick up coil metal plate. Too much heat will kill a magnetic field. That grease keeps it cool somehow. The red wire connects to the positive side of the coil and the black wire connects to the ground side of the coil. Do not connect the condenser to anything. My new distributor (part # VW06) and this ignition module made my old VW run really good.

Lo uso porque yo ya estaba cansado de los platinos quemados y jala al 100% con su bobina respectiva de 3.0 ohms siempre y cuando cambies los cables de tierra nuevos al chasis a la bobina y todos los de tu carro

Installed it today and had no real issues. The magnet ring needs a bit of pressure and grease to slide on the shaft of the 009. Fired right up without adjusting the timing. Will see if it lasts. Will buy a second one to be sure and keep in the glove box, just in case. The aluminum base plate (C shape) can warp a bit upon tightening the provided screw. But overall, it fist well and stays in place. Will update if any issues.
