This thing was an unimaginable PITA to install in my boat….
Nonetheless it is a good deal on a starter. Installed on my Ford 302 Mercruiser engine.
Update June 2020 – 3 years has gone by, and I have put over 300 hours on the boat without any issues with the starter, I just looked at it again the other day and it still looks brand new. Very satisfied.
July 2023 – still working great. I’ve put 550 hours on the boat since installing this starter

great starter!! got it in 3 days after ordering it! fit right on my motor no problem, this is a great amazon seller greaat product i highly reccomend them if you need a starter, they sell hard to find starters for older boat engines for less than half the price and these are new!!! i will be buying from them again, thanks db electrical.

This starter is a great replacement for a 351w marine engine. After 34 years and just at 1000 hours of service the original starter went out. Replaced with this unit and have over 30 hours on it now at the time of this review and have zero complaints. Go for it.

Got this for a spare. It is used on a jet pump inboard and the moisture kills them every couple years so we keep one on hand. They have never failed to work after being stored for a couple years

Installed on 82 Mastercraft, pleasurecraft marine ford 351. gave only 4 stars because the one issue I had is that the bolt housing is thinner and needed to put an extra washer on bolts so they would not bottom out.
Also I have only started boat 4 or 5 times while on the trailer. Have not had boat in the water yet to try it.

Works well. Installed on a 91 f150 302 automatic. Engagement depth is good no grinding. Had to trim the post down to clear a set of headers. Works well, consistent turn over speed.
