Amazon customer –
Replaced the original starter on my 1993 Volvo Penta 2002B with this cheap thing, some of the cooling water ran over it when testing. Despite being marketed as a marine starter, water got into the starter motor and it refused to turn when the solenoid engaged. The end cap has a gasket but it’s not secure enough to prevent water ingress when it’s just dripping on the starter. Removed it, bench tested it; solenoid engaged only once every five minutes and it wouldn’t run for more than 5 sec. even if it did turn. Not happy, will be returning for warranty refund.

Lighter and stronger motor than the OEM Bosch unit in a 40 year old Volvo. First one I received immediately cracked the aluminum drive gear casing upon starting. Must have been a defetive casting.
Fast and easy return and replacement. No problems in the 2 years since then.

This seems like an excellent product for the price. It fit my classic Volvo car perfectly. The threaded bolt holes are a nice touch that make installation easier and the bench test sheet included with the part is informative. Only complaint is that it’s a touch noisy.
So far I’m very pleased. I will update in the future if there are any failures.
