I ordered this part for my 2004 Beetle 1.8l Turbo/auto trans. And after receiving it realized VW did not clearly show my car to be a GLS Turbo(not a Turbo S). PLEASE be aware that a Beetle which says Turbo on the tail and the engine is NOT the same thing as a TURBO S model. Turbo S model has a different transmission and thus requires a different starter… model SBO0182 is ONLY for TURBO S. If you have a Beetle with 1.8l (GLS)Turbo (not model S) then you would need SBO0121.

Item fit as described, unit was shipped with a ‘performance spec sheet’ which showed the actual values for the tolerances on the starter. Nice touch. Unit is strong and fit pwrfect on a hard to match Audi application.

Received it today just finished installing the new starter, sounds and starts beautiful every time. Great deal I called around and everyone in town wanted $180 plus for the same starter I got it delivered for $130 can’t beat that. Thanks so much DB electrics
