Product works as should though mounting bracket is turned from where the wire hooks up so it needs a longer + wire
Took motor out and used old bracket and case with the new motor and gears. Works fine

I ordered this for my 1978 70 HP Johnson motor and it did not fit. The mounting tabs are welded in the complete wrong position. The description says it will fit my motor but it clearly doesn’t.

Bought two call on a 1971 and 1977 OMC outboard motor. Both work great. Got both of these for half what the Marine dealer wanted for just one. These are 9tooth. But replaced the original just fine

Bought a used boat and was told that the starter was recently rebuilt. First time out, the started fails. I ordered this one, got it in 2 days (Prime) and installed it in 10 mins. It fit perfectly and this thing cranks over my 40HP Evinrude like there’s no tomorrow. Once it’s been started and run, if I start it again, you don’t even hear the engine crank. It’s instant on and idling. Highly recommend this as a replacement to your old, tired, or failed starter.
