Wrecked Revival –
The diameter and length of this starter is a little bit smaller than the OEM starter which makes for an easier install but the core has less copper windings so it’s not quite as powerful and struggled to turn over the lq4 6.0L that’s swapped into my avalanche.
Basically just bought this for the new solenoid Because retail price for a starter is $130-$300. My original starter motor worked fine I just had a bad solenoid so I swapped this starters solenoid onto my original starter and it turns over quite a bit easier than with this smaller starter.

I bought this for my Suburban 3 years ago and still working great. Fit perfectly and I’ve had no problems since. I really didn’t expect it to last too long, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Great value for the price.

Just like the other guy said when you remove your old starter either save the bolts that are already there on your starter. If not, go get new ones before you even do your project comes with new hardware so you can attach the harness the wire harness my car starts, on the first try now I would definitely buy this again very affordable compared to auto parts stores almost 260 for a new one at AutoZone or advance auto. I’ll go with this option. Thanks again.

Had my starter fail in my 2005 Chevy suburban. Installing this starter fixed the issue and now the beast is back on the road. Reasonably inexpensive and works perfectly. The auto parts shop nearby wanted $200 for the same part.

I purchased this item for my vehicle and had it professionally installed. When the starter was initially installed, it cranked noticable slower than the previously installed OEM starter it replaced. The technician installing the starter noted the cheap quality nuts provided with the product. The starter failed in less than a year and with less than 2000 miles.
I contacted DB Electrical for a replacement per the warranty listed on the product page which states “1-year warranty protects you after your purchase. We’re confident that our products will work flawlessly once installed in your vehicle. But in a rare that it does not, we’ll replace it anytime within one year of your order. If you have a problem, we will take every step to assist you, contact us for a replacement.” I even provided DB Electrical with my Amazon.com invoice receipt and photos of the defective product per their request. DB Electrical refused to honor the warranty listed on the product page and in an email from [email protected] said “I do apologize, but this is a Prime order and we have no record of it in our system. Without an order record, we are unable to warranty any Prime orders. Please see their return policy from their website stating they will honor the maufacturer’s warranty for the life of the warranty.” I contacted Amazon and they stated they cannot cover a manufacturers warranty. Fortunately Amazon provided a partial refund with a restocking fee, but per their representatives this not common practice by Amazon.com.
This is a poor quality starter with no product backing my DB Electrical. The one year warranty listed on the product page will not be honored and is intentionally misleading to the customer. I recommend you purchase from a different manufacturer.

I purchased this starter in 2019 for my work van and I didn’t expect much from it. It didn’t sound like it was meshing well with the flywheel ring gear, but that could certainly be the flywheel gear being a little rough from the original starter failing. I don’t think it was the flywheel, but it would be unfair to blame the starter without being certain.
Anyway, fast forward 5 years and it’s still a little noisy 🤣, but it starts very good and strong every day! I’ve probably put around 40-45,000 miles on the van in the 5 years since I installed this starter, and I often have to start the the van several times a day while on the job, on top of the normal starts to drive places. The only reason I’m here now is to replace the starter on one of my trucks and I wanted to look back and see how long this one has been on my van. Seeing now that it’s been 5 years, I think I’m going to go ahead and order a new one for my van as well and keep the old one for a spare, but it is in no way showing signs of wear as of yet! And just in case you don’t know, these are the same quality as anything you’d find at the local parts store, but at maybe 25% of the cost 😁👍

Bought this in 2021 to replace 14yo original factory installed starter and had it installed and it worked great until 5/2024. It stopped starting and began to make burning smell. I had to put my vehicle back in the shop for a new starter. For the starter to stop working less than 5yrs after purchase and install seems like a quality issue to me. This experience makes me think I should have just paid a local store the $300. Even if I had an issue like this I could have at least gotten a discounted replacement. Now I’m stuck paying more than that because of replacing this starter. The ASE certified tech checked my vehicle and said it was not the vehicle but the starter. I would not recommend this starter.
