I have a 1984 CJ7 with a 258 V6. Bought this as a replacement plug and it just sits on top of the valve cover and does not lock in at all. Useless.

I have a 4.6L Golen Stroker in my TJ Wrangler and purchased the Golen branded valve cover with my engine. During one of my oil changes I lost the oil cap provided by Golen and replaced it with an Edelbrock branded 1.25″ oil cap. Unfortunately, that cap didn’t fit tightly and the oil cap constantly leaked oil.
I replaced that cap with this one and it fits very tightly in the Golen branded valve cover. After about 100 miles, I verified that the cap was still seated tightly and no oil appeared to be leaking/seeping/weeping out.
I highly recommend this cap.

Why 4 stars, because this cap should have come with the valve cover I bought from Crown, instead they shipped with the valve cover an oil plug that did not fit.
