Replaced alternator on my 1986 OMC 3L. Worked fine, but it was a single wire instead of the OEM 3 wire set up.
Took me a little research to convince myself it was OK. It seems to work fine. The pulley is a smaller diameter
which left me wondering what size belt I need. As the standard belt wears on this set up it often gets to the
end of the adjustment. For now it seems to be OK.
