Have the Onan 5500 evap with 450 hours, on my fifth wheel toy hauler. This carb fit perfect. Had to lengthen my fuel line from pump to carb about four inches due to a different fuel port on this carb but that was the only hiccup. I like the idea of new fuel line and new stainless screw clamps anyway. Don’t use that line and stuff that comes with the carb, unless you’re trying to burn down your camper, but don’t say I didn’t warn ya. The price point made this unit worth checking out, a lot cheaper than the $350.00 Onan/Cummings wanted. This carb stopped the surging, rough Idle and it started as quickly as it did when the unit was brand new. Oh and contrary to other reviews my generator runs perfect under the load of two ac units, all the lights and a couple of box fans. Not the normal load but wanted to push it now because August in South Texas is no time to find out it won’t carry its load. Guess that guy with the bogging problem drew the short straw and got a lemon, I’d definitely recommend this unit to my friends, the ones I like anyway.. y’all have a great day.

Got this carburetor for my 5500 onan generator. It’s the second one I’ve used on the same generator. The first one worked great but eventually it wouldn’t start. Tried cleaning it but when that failed I ordered a replacement for it. The second carburetor looked exactly like the first so I put it on and it still didn’t start and also the carburetor float bowl leaked. I replaced it with a factory carburetor and it fired right up with no issues. Moral of the story is these Chinese made carburetors are a crap shoot.

Installed easily and identical to OEM. Included fuel line was too small diameter but my old one was still like new. I purchased just the fuel shut-off solenoid from the dealer last year and it cost more than this entire kit. Was a great deal and I will buy another of this same kit for a spare.

THere were two defects with the new carburetor. The first was a no-start/no spark issue that was determined to be external electric throttle control sensor. It has a loose connector kept the engine from starting. Replaced with the part with the same from the old carburetor and it fired right up. Second, after firing up the engine would immediately become fuel starved so not sure whether that is a float bowl or fuel metering problem. It is not the fuel pump and I just replaced as the old one quit working.

Bought this for my onan 5500. Wasn’t sure if that was the problem with it so didn’t want to drop the $350+ on a oem. Didn’t start the geny for awhile (almost 2 years😳) so I knew it could be the problem or the gas. I started off trying to get as much of the gas out and add fresh but didn’t work. So I figured for about $50 I try this! And I was surprised and over the moon when this worked! Also was not hard at all to install just watch a you tube vid. I’ve now set a monthly reminder to start the generator 😂
