The o-ring on our Forte’s original cap was cracking and allowed an evap leak (and a check engine light). This cap fir perfectly and solved the leak. I only gave it 4 stars for now because I want to see how long the o-ring on this cap lasts. We got 9 years out of the original so hopefully this lasts at least half as long.

This aftermarket gas cap is a close visual match for the factory part. It has the same wording as a 2012 Kia Optima factory gas cap, although if you examine them side-by-side you’ll see that the fonts are slightly different. It appears to seal well. It should work well enough to get you through an emissions inspection, as long as it really is the gas cap that’s setting off your check-engine light…
