This is a really sturdy, well balance phone holder! I was actually going to return this because it’s base was too big for where I wanted to put it, but I stood it right on my dash and it works perfectly! It holds my big Iphone easily, and stands perfectly strong and still with city drive and highway drive! I really like this a lot and highly recommend it!

My phone gets hot hanging from a vent mount. In the summer here it gets hot, so a suction cup mount would only work half the year. I was hopeful but also had doubts about this product. Will my $1000 phone go flying across the dash someday? Some people had problems with the clip breaking, is it study enough?
Well, I had no reason to doubt. The thing is rock solid on the dash, and IT DOESN’T MOVE. No flying phones, just a phone perfectly mounted so that I can glance at directions on my app.
Other things you should know: that clip is really springy! It holds tightly and firmly, so don’t just yank your phone out. The two pieces of the clip will clap together and potentially break the clip. However, should the undesirable happen, new clips are available to purchase for a small amount here on Amazon. They are easy to change. The clip can be turned vertical or horizon, whatever works best for you. My phone sits on the clip perfectly in a vertical manner to not hit any buttons and plug in the charger.
Honestly, this thing was a really good buy. I’m glad I bought it.

I have used many dashboard cellphone holders and all of it did not last but this one. The suction ones would only last for months and it would lose its capacity to stick on the dash. But this one, even if I make a hard turn, my phone stays where it is. I have been using this for a week now and I am very happy.

There are four common method of securing a phone in a car: (1) Window suction mount, (2) Air vent clip bracket, (3) Adhesive mount, (4) Weighted dash non-slip mount base. BENEFITS — I selected the weighted non-slip holder because it can be easily moved and adjusted while putting the phone in the line of sight for less looking away from the road. PROBLEMS — Despite using a smaller lightweight phone in the stand, I had some issues. If the swivel mount threaded tension twist knob isn’t really cranked down tight, the weight of the phone can cause it to pull down from gravity. A heavier phone would almost certainly be a problem. The threading of the adjustment knob can at times be a little finicky resulting in misaligned threads. A redesign with heavier thicker deeper threads might help. Another issue is the way the universal clamp holds onto the sides of the phone. For my phone, it presses right on the volume button. As seen in the photo, the volume rocker button either goes to maximum or minimum and gets stuck there while in the bracket. A redesigned holder could have a claw-like design with two contact points on either side of the phone. Or, a corner holding type of spring mount bracket would work well to avoid power and volume buttons. With these changes it would be a better holder. Right now it is okay for people with phones having no buttons in the middle of the phone side edges.

there is very little “meat” on the phone clip where it attaches to the articulating ball on the post of the base. this section broke very shortly after purchase. As well, the hinge pin on the jaw clip had a tendancy to “walk” up and slide out of place.
This was unfortunate as this item was exactly what I needed. Now I have to find an alternate solution.
