I’ve purchased chamois over the years. I know what to expect, and their care and break in process. The process used to treat this chamois leaves a residue on the car’s paint that cannot be wiped off. After numerous attempts to remove the chemicals from the chamois, finally bought a different brand from local parts house.

The cloth towel is great to have for drying and cleaning up your car. I usually use this for wiping down my car after a wash. I keep it in my trunk after I go through a car wash at the gas station. It feels lighter and less thicker than other microfiber towels so it really does not take up too much space. It does come with a small plastic ziplock bag so you can easily store it in that if needed. Again the towel does feel different than microfiber. It is easy to roll up if required. The material does feel a little rougher than other microfiber but it does a good job at drying my car easily. The towel does dry fairly quickly when it is open, but I would not suggest you roll up and put it back into the bag because it will retain the smell. It is an easy wash you can just throw it into the wash with other towels but I do recommend you air dry as dryer can damage the material. You only get one towel but it does the job in drying your car down very quickly without needing another towel. Also be aware that this gets pretty heavy with all the water it absorbs. Wringing out the water is super easy and effective. I would definitely recommend airing out the small bag because it does have that new plastic like smell. There is enough towel to use this to dry off your car fast. Overall I think this towel is great and I would definitely recommend it for car cleaning. The only thing is the color does make it easy to stain.

Years ago, I made my daughter a Pocahontas costume from Costco’s giant chamois cloths. I want to make one that fits her adult figure, but Costco doesn’t carry the real thing anymore. I thought I was going to pay waaay more today for a smaller size skin. Surprise, this is the same grade, quality and size as the Costco item – but MUCH less expensive! The color struck me as white when I initially opened it, but when I held the white trim against it, there are several shades of contrast. I would say this chamois is light beige.

I use this as is with a piano spray polish cleaner to clean finger smudges from my gloss black piano. Works perfectly. This type of finish smudges or scratches if you look at it wrong, but this cloth removes the smudges without scratching. This would probably work on any wood with a gloss finish- guitars, furniture,…
