Unfortunately the auto industry has decided we don’t need 12vdc plugs anymore. I only have USB outlets in my vehicle. I have a backup camera on my RV trailer and a screen that I can place in the vehicle to view what’s behind the trailer. This screen requires a 12vdc plug. I know I could buy one and wire it to fuse block and find a place in the dash to drill a hole to mount an outlet but I didn’t want to go to this extreme in a new vehicle. This solves my problem but just barely. You lose current converting from 5 to 12 volts so it doesn’t power much. It did work for the screen but not for a phone signal amplifier that I have. I’d buy another if it had a little more power.

My 96 van has a cig lighter thats just too short for accessories, so i bought this so i can listen to my music on my roadtrips and it works flawlessly so far, i just plugged into my phone or battery bank and plugged in the transmitter. Havent tried anything else so cant verify this would work with an airpump for example but so far it works great for my use case. Oh and product seems to be made with quality plastics and materials; seems durable. Will update if it stops working on me.

It works but make a really Annoying sound like bippp, I think is to expensive for the quality, fragile material.

My HR-V only has USC-C connections and doesn’t have a cigarette lighter socket. I got this adapter and it just works great with my front and rear dashcam.

Surprising that they sell accessories that use cigarette lighter socket for power, but so many new cars don’t have cigarette lighters! The Ford im using now has three Type C, one Type A and an AC inverter, but no cigarette lighter socket! This adapter handily addresses that problem.
