DID THE TRICK

Went right on my 1965 star cheif 389. No fuss at all. Even with the inlet and outlet switched from original it bolted right up. Only ran it for a couple minutes so far. Great job Carter as always. Top notch product

Works great 👍

when the old one began to leak, looked all over online. This was a prompt delivery and very correct for the 347 in the vehicle. If fit, it worked, what more can I say…
Amazon Customer –
fuel pump when installed did not function at all. i had to purchase another one to replace this one..

This was not an exact replacement for the original fuel pump. The inlet and outlet were not in the same location on the pump body as the original. They were, in fact, located in the opposite position on the pump body. The fuel pressure created by the new pump might be set to high, as it caused a fuel leakage passed the top gasket on the carburetor. It would seem to me that the manufacturer is trying to make this pump fit too many different applications. What can be said good about the fuel pump is that it does indeed pump fuel.

Pump worked great on my 59 Pontiac 389, which currently resides in my 1953 Ford F100.

I purchased this for my 65 GTO. I haven’t installed yet. Quality is not even close to the original AC/Delco pump but I guess that is expected in this Global economy.
