I use these on Cummins Diesels I love them- very good price and enough pressure. Plan on trying on Kubota V1902 too.
In the past there were a few bad reviews when mounted to engine block- the viberation could be destructive.
I do not mount on engine blocks and I mount a filter between tank and pump. a big filter with water drain used on bulk supply tanks,
TSC and Farm + Fleet have them not expensive and proper micron for suction line filter.

Silent extremely good flowing pump. I used it as a diesel lift pump for a 1995 Chevy diesel, but it put out too much PSI for my use. Didn’t know that the maximum amount of pressure for the injector pump was 10PSI. It can be used if a 10 ohm resistor is put in line.

I normally won’t write a review unless something is out of this world fantastic, or a complete abomination. Unfortunately for this Carter P4601 pump, I’m here due to the latter instance. I first started using these pumps about 4 or 5 years ago on my c10, and was so satisfied with it, I installed another fuel system on that truck, with its own pump, and did the same for a couple other carbureted vehicles I run. All daily drivers, and have seen many thousands of miles including cross country road trips. Four or five years ago these pumps cost $75-$90, and they lasted about two years each give or take. I install them all to run off of relays, and use -6an fuel lines everywhere for best flow on my applications. Then steadily these pumps’ longevity has started to decline more and more over the past couple of years, and their price keeps going higher and higher. Fast forward to this year, and these pumps are now $130-$160 depending on vendor, and they don’t last more than two or three months. Even more disappointing than that, is that I keep getting new ones that are LOW on psi right out of the box! Now I have all these vehicles that I built the fuel system around this Carter pump, and I’ve been dreading changing to another brand and model, not knowing if it’ll be more junk, and have to reconfigure my fuel systems for them. At their current quality, the Carter p4601 should be no more than $50, IF THAT

This is the second 4601 pump I have installed. The fist one has been running strong in my 1965 mustang fastback for 15 years. The pump I just purchased is I my 78 F 250 and it works great as well. These pumps work great and are quiet.

It really have been great I bought this in mid 2016 and it still works great on my 6.5 diesel. No more fuel starvation!

Pump is labeled in on one side out on the other. This made me think in where fuel enters the pump out where it pushes fuel out so out side would be engine side… right? Not the case after trying to prime my fuel system multiple times and realized it was sucking fuel from the rail I switched it around and it works great. Maybe this is my stupidity but if it isn’t working for you maybe the out side is tank side and in is engine side.
